The Global Warming lies are winding down.
When Democrats in the House of Representatives adjourned for vacation without coming to grips with the need to drill more oil wells, they left in defeat. The minute they were out of town, their presidential nominee, Mr. Obama, decided that "it may be okay to drill oil wells offshore if we're 'really careful'." The Democrats return home to growing criticism accompanied by the fact that their anointed one just stabbed them in the back. The voters they will meet can be divided into three groups, The Dumb and The Dumber and those capable of some independent thought.
The Dumb think their Congressman cares about them. The Dumb believe their Congressman worries about the fact they have to pay four dollars a gallon to get to work. They think their Congressman cares about how they'll pay for the doubling and quadrupling of electric bills.
The Dumber think their Congressman cares about the planet. They think he's more concerned about the endangered species of the day, or with "climate change" than with such "working class concerns" as paying their bills.
Neither The Dumb nor The Dumber understands that their Congressman only cares about getting re-elected.
Those who are able to do some independent thinking understand that their own, individual economic well-being depends on drilling more wells, and will understand that the Democrats do not want to do that, and will only talk about it under great pressure.

Only a professional liar could look at this chart:
and believe that global warming is real or that it is affected by carbon dioxide levels. Yet another month has gone by, and temperatures are still dropping while carbon dioxide, that "dangerous greenhouse gas" is increasing consistently. Still, temperatures are dropping.
Frankly, few human beings are benighted enough to look at that chart and believe in either global warming or in the pernicious effect of carbon dioxide on temperatures. It's hard for an honest person to actually study this chart and continue to believe that the world is getting warmer because carbon dioxide levels are increasing.
We know why liars lie; it's the only way the poor, lost souls can make the high salaries they do. As Catholic Fundamentalists understand, some people tell lies for money, and their souls are at great risk.
Rather than laugh at them, or call them names, we should pray for them to have more respect for truth. It is the only chance their souls have of being saved.

As we learn the basics, it's important to share them.
As readers know, Catholic Fundamentalists work to make God more relevant by using words from our own, Electronic Age, to describe Him. The old, Iron Age words simply don't work any more.
This is a deceptively simple change.
As soon as a modern person, familiar with how speedily computers work, even begins to think of God as The Unprogrammed Programmer with the ability to program particles, compile them into systems and beings with amazing speed, and have them move through time, a door through which a soul may move to Heaven is opened that, for many, might otherwise remain closed.
For many, we have but to point to a computer animation of startling realness, and say, "God can do that in three dimensions. He has fish programs swimming through water programs that are caught by human programs with hooks and nets that humans have the ability to re-program from His basic programs."

Making choices.
The world was programmed so that each of us individual human programs would have to make many, many choices. Every day we freely choose to make countless decisions of varying importance.
Most of our choices are concerned with our many worldly activities. We make many decisions about the best ways for us to deal with others, how we should look to others, what we should say to others, and how we should react to the ways that others treat us.
A great deal of what we do is concerned with how we appear to other people. Most of us spend a great part of our lives working so that our position is re-affirmed, enhanced, and validated.
Each of us knows that our body will eventually die. From the Epicureans of Greece and Rome to the humanists of today, many choose to believe that their spirits will die with their bodies. They may be right. The Programmer may have set it up so that some souls who freely chose not to believe in Him simply disappear when they die. If He were more concerened with justice than mercy, that may be the case. On the other hand, having a soul disappear, rather than going to eternal punishment, may be merciful.
When we consider the teaching of The Church, and of those people who are so close to God that they have chosen to suffer, and even die, rather than recant their beliefs in Him, it is hard not to simultaneously contemplate the existence of our own soul.
Would an intelligent, learned person be willing to give up all his earthly possessions, including his own body, to save a soul that wasn't there?
The other side has always had a clever answer; "Yes, if he was sufficiently deluded." The more difficult such answers make our own choice, the greater our reward for making the right decision.
One of our responses to that is, "It is programmed to be hard to tell which side the delusion is on. The martyr may be deluded into believing that there is a soul, judgment, and a world beyond. On the other hand, those who choose not to believe in that may be deluded by their own vanity. Disbelief merely indicates that a person has replaced God with his own vanity, the greatest delusion of all."

The left loves lies more than money.
It's amazing how many Americans don't know, as of this date, that recent Presidential candidate John Edwards, whose wife is dying of terminal cancer, has a girlfriend who recently had their baby. Similarly, most don't know that he talked a supporter into claiming paternity of the child. We are kept ignorant of the fact that he visits the girlfriend frequently. And, that money is being funneled both to her and to the pretend father. To see her, he leaves his wife, who campaigned with him and for him during the recent Primary, and who worked tirelessly for his election despite her terminal cancer, at home. Mainstream Media has steadfastly ignored this story.
During this period, the only national news media to mention John Edwards and his mistress and their child was The National Enquirer. A few days ago, it's reporters tracked John Edwards to a hotel rendezvous with the young mother of what is thought to be his youngest child. He hid in a bathroom until hotel security got him out of the building.
No other major media reported a story that would, if it involved a Republican, provide front page, lead news items for weeks. If only he had been a Republican, the recent Father of the Year's hypocrisy would be endlessly exposed by "disappointed" media personalities.
At the very same time, the left ignores scientific, as well as political, realities. it is apparent that Global Warming stopped in 2002, and that global temperatures have been dropping since then. The charts posted here and on other sites are indisputable. The world is growing cooler, mostly because the sun is putting out less energy than in recent decades.
The very same Media that decides to ignore John Edwards' adultery also chooses to ignore dropping temperatures. Daily stories of horrors (yesterday, a girl stung by a jellyfish had her painful interlude blamed on Global Warming) caused by an utterly nonexistent Global Warming fill up space in the print media and time on TV and radio.
At the very same time, many major media outlets are going broke. "News" has been around long before the Emperor's publicists would send announcers throughout Rome to tell people what to think. News has generally been a profitable business. But, when lies and favoritism become as blatant as the above two items uncontrovertibly illustrate, fewer people will invest time and money in them.
The interesting thing is that the owners of the increasingly impoverished media don't care enough to start telling the truth and making money. They would rather go broke and keep lying than make money by telling the truth.

Power to the people. Hah.
England has long been an example of leftist failure. Nothing its government does works, and it continues working hard to fail at more things.
Recently, angry leftists there demonized a couple of new coal-fired generators. They have also stopped the building of new nuclear generators.
At the same time, they say they believe in "empowering the people". In fact, they do not want people to have any kind of power, either political, electrical, or mechanical. They actually hate the thought of people gaining in power. When the people of Ireland voted to stay out of the European Union, which, according to the Union's Pretend Constitution, would cancel it, bureaucrats simply ignored them, while refusing to let other countries have similar votes.
No professional leftists complained about taking any kind of power from the people.

What's really wrong with the housing market?
Back in the 1930s and 40s, Stalinists took control of the teachers' unions in the United States. They knew that tenured teachers, under their control, would provide a near-eternal funding mechanism for their endless depredations on every host culture into which they could insert themselves. At the same time, those unions would be able to provide good, safe, secure jobs for Party hacks and loyalists.
Having just gone through a depression in which incomes were drastically reduced, the Party did not want their new branch funded by an income tax. "It's safer to fund public education with property taxes. The fools have to live somewhere, and we'll be able to tax them all, regardless of how much, or how little, money they make."
Every year, property taxes go up in lockstep with teachers' salaries. Houses are worth, adjusted for inflation, far less than they have been, but taxes still go up. As it becomes more apparent that each house is merely another opportunity for the vast public education empire to enslave home-owners, houses drop in value while taxes go endlessly up.
As a result of excessive taxation, the housing market in most places shows declining values, with dozens of millions of homes standing vacant. But, no mainstream media ever lets people know that value is disappearing largely because of teachers' unions successfully raising property taxes.

Pilgram?
Catholic Fundamentalists understand that each of us is a unique, individual, multi-dimensional, free-will program written at the very moment of our conception by the Angelic Sub-Programmers who cheerfully took on the job. Our individual program was compiled by selecting from all the available material from our ancestors, adding in whatever The Programmer wanted, and was lovingly and carefully downloaded by those following The Programmer's directions.
When we see other people, we should recognize that all of them, like us, were just as lovingly compiled by The Programmer with the attributes He wanted them to have. The universal reality is that each of us was programmed in all the dimensions we live so we could choose to love, or not love, both God and our neighbors.
During the French Revolution, free-will programs were addressed as "Citizen", and "Reason" was enthroned. In the early days of the Communist Revolution, people called each other "Comrade" and "Fraternity" was widely pretended to rule.
Things were different on our side of the Atlantic. In the John Wayne westerns, many were addressed as "Pilgrim", recognizing that all were on their way to a promised land, either in this world or the next. That's a far more meaningful term that recognizes both the specific and universal characteristics whose common programming and goals we all may share.
Since we are both "Program" and "Pilgrim, we may see ourselves as "Pilgram". It's better than "Progrim".

How many lies in: "Using fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that cause global warming."?
We are like fish, swimming in an ocean of lies. One of the most pervasive lies that we are told from a very young age is that "Oil is a fossil fuel." Most of us have heard that lie, accompanied by "Coal is a fossil fuel." and "Natural gas is a fossil fuel." since we were in elementary school.
At the same time we hear those lies, we also find out that oil is found far, far below any sedimentary rock formations. Some wells are several miles deep, far into igneous rock. How did "fossil fuels" leak miles below the deepest depth at which plants and animals were ever found?
In fact, oil is produced from naturally occurring hydrocarbons by the continual nuclear reaction that takes place in the earth's core. The planet has many places where underground pressures force continual streams of natural gas and oil to bubble up at the surface.
Despite geological reality, we are still fed a steady stream of lies that tell us about "fossil fuels".
The "fossil fuel" lies are very instructive. Their universality shows that powerful interests are working hard to be sure that this deeply entrenched lie is firmly rooted in all minds. The "fossil fuels" lie has been told for generations, is told today, and will be told as long as those who profit from artificial scarcities are able to tell it. It is analogous to teaching that "The earth is flat".
Those who control existing underground fuel sources do not want competition. They combine lies to successfully convince people that "Using 'fossil fuels' produces 'greenhouse gases' that cause 'global warming'." Three lies in one sentence, and that's just counting the nouns!
When we add the verbs, we get six lies! There are no significant amounts of "fossil fuels", so we cannot "use" them; "greenhouse gases" are not produced or increased significantly by them; and there is no 'global warming', only cyclical ups and downs caused by solar cycles that emit more and less energy.
Such lies are so heavily supported by propaganda, beginning in the earliest grades, that they are widely believed. Many, in fact, will become angry when told that all six of the lies in "Using fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that cause global warming." are lies, and that only the most credulous dullards will believe them.
That's because all the lies appeal to human vanity, the importance of which is yet another lie. We are told, again from grade school, that it is "intellectual" to believe that "Using fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that cause global warming." We are also told that it's good to be "intellectual", and that all "intellectuals" and "scientists" agree that "Using fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that cause global warming."
This lie is accompanied by another lie, the implication that those who do not believe that "Using fossil fuels produces greenhouse gases that cause global warming." are primitive, superstitious savages. They are comparable to "religious extremists" and "dangerous radicals". People with another view of truth than that propounded by approved "intellectuals" and "scientists" are burned at the modern equivalent of the stake by being fired, not hired, or denied tenure and promotion.

Surprising information in the coal/nuclear battle:
"A 1,000 MW coal-burning power plant could release as much as 5.2 tons/year of uranium (containing 74 pounds (34 kg) of uranium-235) and 12.8 tons/year of thorium. The radioactive emission from this coal power plant is 100 times greater than a comparable nuclear power plant with the same electrical output; including processing output, the coal power plant’s radiation output is over 3 times greater."
It's a surprise to most of us that a coal-fired plant puts more radioactive material into the atmosphere than a similar sized nuclear power plant. Coal plants burn a trainload of coal every few days, all of which contains traces of uranium and thorium that add up to surprising sums.
More than ever, it seems like those fighting against clean, cheap, reliable nuclear power are simply so wrong they appear to be operating without common sense.
Wonderfully alarming headline that precedes a story that's far less alarming (from Bloomberg.com Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008):
One-Third of U.S. Homeowners Owe More Than Houses Are Worth, Zillow Says
The story under the headline shows different, far less frightening facts:
"Aug. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Almost one-third of U.S. homeowners who bought in the last five years now owe more on their mortgages than their properties are worth, according to Zillow.com, an Internet provider of home valuations."
(Italics added.)
This sort of distortion is a perfect example of what most in the media do; twist and exaggerate facts in order to frighten as many as possible.

Once, he was known as Dis. Today, we may better relate by seeing that he's a virus.
The Roman's God of the underworld was Dis, a tradition that carried through to Dante and on to us, today. His goal is to spread confusion and destruction. We see clearly that Dis always supported any person or group who wanted to undermine or destroy existing organizations, whether in religion, families, businesses, or governments. Today, Dis works through Communists, environmentalists, and members of religions that have embraced hatred and murder as a way of life.
Dis, whom we may now understand better as a corrupting virus of The Programmer's Programs, still hates the same things he's always hated. He works to destroy faith, family, and any sort of independent units.
Just as the Romans found it helpful to understand the forces of destruction by personifying them in Dis, we can now see that those working to destroy us are viruses, attacking every single program, including their own.
When Jesus was on earth, He never encouraged His followers to eradicate the those who carried Dis's viruses. He drove some of them out of people, but focused more on loving neighbors, whether they were infected with the viruses of Dis, or not.
We may infer that some of these bad viruses may be changed, or driven away, by loving the soul, mind, and body they've infected. They are only full of hate because no one loved them.

Hot wars, cold wars, energy wars.
Countries always try to take advantage of other countries. Several nations have a growing monopoly in energy production. Russia, for instance, supplies most of the natural gas that Europeans needs to stay warm in the winter. Russian agents support environmentals candidates in those countries who will not allow those peoples to tap the vast supplies of natural gas under Europe. That way, the Russians keep their profitable near-monopoly on energy, and they subsidize hordes of "greens" to keep it that way.
Much of North America's oil comes from overseas producers. They, like the Russians in Europe, subsidize the elections of "green candidates" in the United States and Canada who pretend to be concerned about "the environment" while working diligently to ensure that overseas energy producers maintain their monopoly.
Only a handful of Americans and Europeans are able to figure this out. Most of us are creatures of trust. It's hard for trusting people to comprehend that so many people would risk their souls telling lies about frauds like global warming, climate change, and greenhouse gases.

First, irrationality. Then, lunacy. Then, perdition.
Catholic Fundamentalists have greatly enjoyed watching the lies that sprang up after President Bush and the Republicans began to focus on solving America's energy shortage by drilling more oil wells. The first, and most persistent lie, was that "It will take ten years to get those wells producing."
In actual fact, the Brazilians began extracting oil from their offshore oil fields within a year or two after their discovery. The wells that should be drilled in ANWAR are shallow, and could be producing in one or two years. Shorter time frames exist for wells that could be drilled anywhere in coastal waters.
But, those who are on the Left are unable to let themselves understand that. Their commitment to the lie, "It will take ten years to get those wells producing." keeps them from truth. This irrationality is mentally confusing. It keeps them from thinking straight about this issue, and thereby makes them more open to accepting other lies from the Left.
After a while, the lies in their poor minds utterly overwhelm their innate affinity for truth. Then, they not only have a hard time understanding truth, they have difficulty even believing that truth exists.
When their lies get piled high enough, their own souls are crushed beneath them.

Understanding the reason for environmentalism:
Recently, officials of several cities on the West Coast professed themselves to be mightily concerned about "the environment". "The environment must be protected from plastic bags.", they announced. "Therefore, we are putting a twenty to twenty-five cent tax on each and every plastic bag."
Nationwide, this tax will raise billions of dollars to feed the same "public servants" who are most concerned about "the environment".
From their point of view, it's ideal. We can easily project this tax spreading. Three hundred million Americans, standing obediently in line each week with enough money in their pockets to buy food, can be more easily separated from another couple of dollars than at any other time.
"The fools won't even notice!", the tax-addicts tell each other. "And, if they do, what can they do about it?"

The energy wars.
What used to be called "Christendom" now weakly identifies itself as "The West". It has always been the most intellectual and inventive part of the world, providing everything from antibiotics to electricity.
While the West was strong, it was rich. As it weakens, its intellectual prowess diminishes, and its vast store of less-well defended wealth is being transferred to those areas of the world where tyranny has always been stronger than freedom.
The most tyrannical areas are under Moslem and Communist (MosCom) domination. Since the MosCom areas have, for generations, wiped out anyone smart enough to make trouble, they lack the intellectuals who can think of new ideas. Those in tyrannies can only steal from the West.
The West is still militarily superior, so western politicians have to be bribed to let the MosCom sections of the globe loot the Americans and Europeans. The only thing that such limited intellects can do to make money is to bribe their way into monopoly status as energy providers.
Because of bribed legislators, using environmentalism as a cover, the West cannot build nuclear reactors, coal-fired generators, drill oil wells, provide themselves with natural gas, or provide themselves with any real energy that doesn't come from the Tyranny Section.
The MosComs have utterly corrupted the Western Democracies by bribing their officials, using environmentalism as the excuse, so that a vast flow of money ever moves their way in return for a tiny trickle of bribes to well-connected Westerners.
As we watch helplessly, the well-bribed officials of the West are winning an increasingly brutal war on their own people.

A fairy tale that could come true.
Once upon a time, there was a Wonderful Invention. It provided power to everyone who had access to it. It was clean, quiet, reliable, and very inexpensive. It ran electric lights and electric motors while it heated homes, offices, factories, and schools.
The Wonderful Invention let people cut their power bills to practically nothing. Rather than spending a dollar a mile to drive and maintain their cars, people only spent a nickel. Rather than spending five hundred dollars a month to provide electricity and heat for their homes, people spent less than a hundred dollars.
Everywhere the Wonderful Invention was used, people's lives were better. Debts were paid off, vacations were taken, medical treatment was affordable, and everyone was happy.
But, there were a horde of angry, bitter grinches who did not want people to be prosperous. So, they kept more nuclear reactors from being built. It was as if the Wonderful Invention never was.
Thursday, August 21, 2008
Today, the bitter are less so.
The price of oil just went up almost six dollars a barrel. That means gasoline, plastic, medicine, paint, transportation, food, and everything else that uses oil went up in price, as well. People are poorer today than they were yesterday.
That means the Democrats, environmentalists, socialists, and communists are about as happy as they are able to be.
"Gasoline is still too inexpensive.", they grumble. "People are still eating and traveling too much. But, higher costs are fundamentally good for them. Today's increases are a step in the right direction."
It's interesting that the people who think this way generally support Democrats. On energy differences, the division between those who love their neighbors and those who hate their neighbors is as clear as the dichotomy between Abel and Cain.

Lunacy is blowing in the wind.
Rightwingnews.com has this fascinating post:
"How many windmills does it take to meet the power needs of a typical city, much less New York City?
At www.scitizen.com, Kurt Cobb worked the numbers. Generously, he presumed the windmills would use 5-megawatt turbines - generating three times the output of a typical 1.5-megawatt turbine. He compared that with a 500-megawatt fossil-fuel (coal) power plant needed to power a city of 300,000 people. A typical power plant, he noted, would cover 300 acres, but use only 30 of those for the actual facility.
Cobb calculated it would take 233 5-megawatt wind turbines to equal the coal plant's output, since the wind doesn't blow constantly. Each would need to be spaced 2,065 feet away from the others (five times the diameter of their 413-foot rotors). Adding the rotor diameters to the spacing requirement equates to a 110-mile long line of windmills, half a mile in width.
It comes to 55 square miles. That's to provide electricity for a town of 300,000 people.
New York City has 8.1 million residents. Manhattan Island totals 23 square miles. So, based on Cobb's calculations, it would take six and a half Manhattan Islands, each covered totally with windmills, to power one-tenth of New York City. And if standard 1.5-megawatt wind turbines were used, they would take three times more space.
...Going back to Kurt Cobb's calculations, if we wanted to meet the electric needs of 300 million Americans rather than only 300,000, we'd need a half-mile swath of windmills, each of them hundreds of feet high, 110,000 miles long, crisscrossing the continent 40 times between New York City and Los Angeles.
That's a lot of land to condemn. The cost would be in the hundreds of billions of dollars, since each large windmill costs millions."
Still, the Democrats, and profiteers, like Pickens, extol the virtues of wind power. It is absolute lunacy, the embrace of which is the hallmark of every leftist. Sometimes, it is hard to imagine that even the power of prayer can turn a soul away from their blatantly obvious lies. But, what else can we do for those to whom vaster piles of pottage is worth more than their own immortal souls?

Two way street.
Many of us spend a lot of time asking God for various things. We do not ask frequently enough, "God, what can I do for you?"
One thing we can do that He'll appreciate is to make a sustained effort to save our own soul. Living quietly in such a way may lead another to try to save his own soul.

Vacation at the beach.
There is a great affinity between people and beaches. Catholic Fundamentalists, who see God as the Unprogrammed Programmer, think this is because we human, free-will programs, see the beach as the place where some of the UP's greatest programs come together.
First, there is our own, individual program. In front of us is the vast Ocean Program, including the basic water program, the dissolved mineral programs, the fish programs, the dolphin programs, the kelp programs, and all those within the Ocean Program.
When we look landward, we are aware of the sand programs, the hill programs beyond, and above us is the vast Atmosphere Program, above which the mighty Sun Program provides the light and heat to keep all of earth's Life Programs going.
The Unprogrammed Programmer provided many areas, like beaches, where we would be aware of the complexity of His Programs, but beaches remain among the most popular. As we grow in faith, we see that every person we meet is also a place where programs have come together in remarkable complexity.
As we learn to love our neighbors, we appreciate the difficulties that they, like us, have when it comes to making sense of all His Programs.
Sunday, August 24, 2008
Their favorite lies, like "fossil fuels", are multipurpose.
Catholic Fundamentalists believe that God has the power to program, and that He programmed and downloaded the Creation Program several thousands of years ago, as the Bible records. We also realize that, in order to give us each free will, He wrote The Program in such a way that each human being would be perfectly free to decide that Creation appeared as an accident, or that He made it.
The viruses working for the other side want people to decide that the world, and human beings, appeared by accident. Those who have made it their mission to keep people away from The Programmer do not want us seriously considering that the world was programmed in a week ten or twelve thousand years ago.
And, those very same people want to keep us in a state of powerlessness. Their lies about "fossil fuel" keep us from realizing that God provided, and is providing, plenty of oil and natural gas even as they make us think that those same substances come from huge piles of organic matter that were buried billions of years ago.
The "fossil fuel" lies also keep us from thinking about a God so brilliant that He could have programmed all creation into being with the idea of letting each one of us choose whether or not to save our own soul. Instead, they prefer to leave us, if with any idea of God at all, that the only one there could possibly be is so distant and powerless and uncaring that it really doesn't matter about Him at all.

Wonderful aspects of the fossil fuel lies:
With oil seeps leaking oil all over the world, and with natural gas coming out of the ground all by itself in many areas, it is obvious that oil is being continually produced by underground forces. The obviousness is made all the more apparent when we realize that some oil wells have been pumping for over century, and they still produce oil.
The best thing about the fossil fuel lies is that they let us know how easily it is for the Virus and his helpers to get people to believe in lies. In America, out of 300,000,000 people, only a few thousand realize that oil and natural gas are being produced by the thermonuclear reactor that is the earth's core. The rest of them believe, as they were taught, that oil comes from moldering dinosaurs and jungles buried in past ages.
When we realize how many billion people believe the lies, we realize how powerful the Virus and his helpers are. They are able to delude in this, and every area of human endeavor.
That's why the fossil fuel lies are so important. Once we are able to understand how big and how widespread they are, we can also see other areas that are based on lies. "It's not really a baby.", is one such deception with life-destroying implications. Another is "The icebergs are melting, and billions will die." Dietary lies, "You're eating too much fat, salt, sugar, meat, potatoes, pasta, bread, butter, jelly, etc." consume large parts of many, many confused minds.
Seeing through the vast fossil fuel lies helps us see through all the others to the mindset behind them all: "You must neither be wealthy, nor wise, nor saved. We want you to be poor, dumb, and damned."

Reversing the fossil fuel lies.
Many geology textbooks show side views of oil wells. They show wells drilling down into pools of oil that rest in bowl-shaped areas of impermeable rock. The implication is that the oil has dribbled down from endless buried forests, jungles, and piles of decaying dinosaurs. This magically appearing oil filled the bowl over billioins of years, and drillers pump that oil from the bowl. Soon, they insist with near-religious fervor, the bowls of oil will all run dry, and we will finally run out of oil.
The opposite is true. Oil and natural gas is continually being produced and is being pushed up from far, far below the earth's surface. The layers of less permeable rock actually trap the rising oil and natural gas underneath them. Successful drillers find those fuels beneath layers of less permeable rock and clay that keeps oil and natural gas from being pushed to the surface by the awesome power of heat generated by the decay of radioactive uranium and thorium deep within the earth.
In the cases above, the oil and natural gas have actually been pushed up from below, until they are trapped by less permeable rock above them. It's easily seen that the oil floats on water below ground, just as it does above.

"There's two kinds of ________."
Each of us tries to make sense out of the people around us. Subconsciously, we often say, "There are two kinds of people, and this person is this/that kind of person."
The biggest, and most eternal difference between people are those who are eternally saved and those who are not. Wilfully committing mortal sins puts us in the latter category, and we can be there in the blinking of an eye. On the other hand, those who are sick of their sins may move into the "saved" category with similar speed.
Angels and demons work hard to move souls toward one goal or the other.
The broadest division between people is whether or not they are Pro-Life or Pro-Death. Those in the Pro-Life group are usually in favor of freedom, lower taxes, families, and the Doctrine of Subsidiarity, which says that decisions must be made at the lowest level possible.
Those in the Culture of Death, even those who merely vote for its representatives, on the other hand, encourage the availability of abortion, more government control, higher taxes, a steady replacement of the family with state agencies, and a degree of top-down management that knows no end.
Within the Culture of Death are many who are "not so bad". They work for CoD agencies, like Public Education and the vast number of agencies designed to destroy freedom, but are not wholly in favor of the bad things their employing agencies do. Such ambivalent people rarely progress into management, and are usually the first to be let go during the rare budget cuts that such agencies sometimes have. Usually, they go on working, waiting until they get their pensions before more vocally complaining about the harm their agency has been doing, is doing, and promises to continue doing to an ever greater degree.
When it comes to predicting the final placement of our own souls, we consider the biggest bet that we will ever make. Those who are Pro-Life try to be good, but even the best are often beset with doubt and temptation. Such distractions can be prayed away.
One way we can see if we're winning that war is to actually quantify the time we spend thinking sinful thoughts throughout the day. Then, we measure the approximate time we spend praying. Hopefully, if the latter consistently and increasingly outweighs the former, we will increase our chances of being saved.

Why the Democrats are bitter.
Democrats are generally not just bitter, but angry. Catholic Fundamentalists believe that we each have a Guardian Angel. When a person becomes "enlightened", and believes that "abortion isn't murder", the Guardian Angel is repelled.
The Guardian Angel still has to do his job, try to take care of the soul in its charge, but his heart isn't in it. "What's the point of trying to save the soul of a murdering nincompoop?", the Guardian Angels say to themselves, and to each other.
So, as another day goes by with the soul in its charge accepting, even working for and voting for the heinous murder of a million and a half unborn babies every year, the Guardian Angel withdraws. There are fewer moment of joy. There is less love in the lost soul. The loss of love and joy is automatically accompanied by a greater concern with the passing things of creation, parts of which become objects of worship, themselves.
Love flees, along with joy, from the souls of such people. And, they become evermore loyal Democrats.

McCain came through!
1. With this selection, Mr. McCain has galvanized his base. All of us who are sickened by a million and a half aborted babies every year have a ticket that's as strongly pro-life as the Democratic ticket is in favor of more
death.
2. We have two candidates who genuinely want to supply Americans with more, cheaper energy. The Democratic opponents both want working people to pay four dollars a gallon for gasoline and twenty times more for electricity to "teach 'em a lesson". The American people are smart enough to prefer electric bills reflecting five cent/kwh atomic energy to the Democrat's beloved $1.20/kwh wind power that only works a week or so out of every month.
3. The Republicans have two candidates who believe in lower taxes and less government. The Democratic ticket features two men who are literally addicted to higher taxes and more government, despite the fact that every single big-government policy has failed miserably.
4. Mr. McCain is offering a chance for our own country to produce another Margaret Thatcher, with all the re-vitalization she brought with her Reaganesque vision to her country.
5. Governor Palin has actually had more executive experience than both of the Democratic candidates put together.
6. Those of us who want everyone to be prosperous have a clear choice between our side, and yours, who wants no one to be prosperous.
7. Governor Palin also has a clear record of fighting corruption, both within and without the Republican Party in her state. And, she didn't buy a house with Tony Rezko's help. On top of that, she's not best buddies with Mr. Obama's best buddy, Bill "the good bomber" Ayres. Even worse, neither she nor Mr. McCain was progressive enough to willingly spend twenty years tithing to a church whose minister truly understood how theologically important it was to repeatedly ask God to "DAMN America!".
8. Like most Americans, both Governor Palin and her husband have done real, actual work in their lives. They've actually gotten their hands dirty. Neither of the Democrats has done much more than some elitist "community organizing", another name for "teaching people to become parasitic". In fact, this is the first time in years that a real "outsider" has run for such a high office. Her background makes her especially attractive to regular Americans who think, say, and do many of the things she and her family think, say, and do.
9. Governor Palin has actually cleaned up a corrupt state government, running against her own Party to get rid of backroom deals and improper profiteering.
The left will denigrate Governor Palin, and will be saying "She's no Hillary Clinton", even though Governor Palin has had more hands-on experience running the largest state in the union than Mrs. Clinton ever had running anything. Well, she was good at running Jennifer Flowers. Down.
Governor Palin did one questionable thing. She raised taxes on oil companies. The Democrats will figure out how to make that an object of derision, as well.

More thoughts on Governor Palin.
After some criticism of the above thoughts when they first appeared on another location, I had to do some serious thinking. I don't know what could have been going through my mind when I posted the comments above defending Senator McCain's selection of Governor Palin.
First of all, she's not a lawyer. No one has any business running for office if they haven't gone through law school.
Second, she didn't go to Harvard or Yale! Only a select few are intellectually capable of running this country, and every single one of them either attended Harvard or Yale. Where is the respect for tradition? These people just don't know their place.
Thirdly, and most obviously, she was never a community organizer! How can anyone run this country without a brief period of teaching people different ways to get more money from the government? How else are the poor and disadvantaged expected to survive? Governor Palin has never organized a single community! She thinks the poor should get jobs! What kind of nonsense is that? Is it any different than slavery?
Fourthly, her husband isn't a lawyer, either. He's not even a college graduate! He makes a living as a union worker. The only thing that any working person is good for is to vote for lawyers, preferably those who graduated from Harvard or Yale. I don't think there's half a dozen Harvard or Yale lawyers in her entire state. Alaskans shouldn't be allowed to vote without our kind of trustworthy people telling them how to think and what to believe.
Fifthly, this sort of thing has to be stopped. It's crazy to appoint people to high office simply because they got elected governor, eliminated a lot of government corruption, have an ongoing 80-90% approval rating from a bunch of stupid hick voters, and have successfully reduced government spending. It is wrong, shallow, and short-sighted to take such things seriously.
Sixthly, I just can't explain what's gotten into John McCain. But, he never went to Harvard or Yale, either. Where do these people come from? Who do they think they are? Uppity, that's what they are. Uppity, uppity, uppity.
Seventh, she seems to think global warming is a crock. A lot of important people have futures tied up in global warming. We have government grants, research budgets, careers in important agencies, stock offerings, and multi-billion dollar opportunities in subsidized windmills, biofuels, carbon credits, and solar panels.
If anyone dares to say that those things are all useless porkbarrels, we could lose money. She doesn't even pretend to take global warming seriously, even after all we've done to make it seem undeniable. Damn those global temperatures! They keep dropping! So does solar output. I just wish we could get some windmills working, somewhere, but they just won't generate enough electricity, no matter how hard we try. We've got to get some lawyers working on them. Those useless engineers just aren't smart enough to repeal the simplest and most basic laws of physics. Where's John Edwards when we need him?
Eighth: This Governor Palin is an attack on our kind of progressive democracy. We can't have mere nobodies get elected to higher office. We've got to do something. I know, let's tell people that she didn't really have a baby, but that her daughter did, and she's faked the pregnancy to cover up for her! Then, let's tell people that she tried to have a state trooper fired when all he did was illegally shoot a moose in a game preserve, threaten to kill his father-in-law, and taser a ten year old boy. That'll fix her!
Ninth: The worst thing she does is actually think problems can be solved. She thinks that by drilling for natural gas and oil, we can solve the problem of high energy prices! She and that awful McCain actually want more nuclear reactors to give families and businesses cheaper electricity! We can't have that! We need to keep these problems alive and unsolved. How else can we get funding? How else can we make a living?
We have to stick together on this. We certainly can't have ordinary Americans determining their own destinies when we can do a much better job of it for them. What else can we do?
