                                                          Nominating considerations.

The nomination of Sarah Palin has been interesting in that it makes us think about the "magic" appearance of a complete unknown as the likely Vice President, and likely future President of the United States.

Conspiracy theorists wonder if this selection took place years ago.  It now appears that Mrs. Palin quickly went from PTA to elected mayor, defeating a three-term incumbent.  Then, she quickly hired the most influential law firm in Alaska, and got herself into a relationship with influential lobbyists in Washington.

After that, money in the form of earmarks fairly flowed into her town, by some estimates, totaling almost thirty million dollars for a town of 7,000 suddenly richer souls.  Some see this and ask:  "Was this a coincidence, or was the rise of Sarah Palin pre-arranged?"

On the Democratic side, an even more "magic rising" had occurred with Obama.  After ingratiating himself with Communists, wealthy Arabs, terrorists, and the Chicago left, he was quickly placed at Columbia University, then at Harvard Law, then editor of the Law Review, then in "community organizing", then in the state legislature, then in the U.S. Senate.

Both candidates seem to have been the beneficiaries of powerful forces pushing them upwards.  That's not something new.  Decades ago, Bill Clinton was anointed with scholarships, deferments, foreign studies, a mysterious trip to Moscow, a rapid and seemingly automatic rise to the Arkansas Governorship, and then to the Presidency.  Another coincidence:  Clinton and Obama were selected as speakers in Democratic conventions in the cycle before their nominations.

                                                         More nomination considerations.

An interesting thought about Sarah Palin:  Both her parents were life-long members of the teachers' union.  Unlike most conservatives, their daughter has not actively pushed for vouchers and parental choice in education.  As catholicfundamentalism.com often points out, the interlocking consortium of public education unions' immense power represents the early triumph of the Stalinists over the Trotskyites, most of whose modern descendants have been reduced to endlessly caterwauling about "the environment" and picking up, compared to the huge, solid, Stalinist-built funding system, chump change.

But, the Trotskyite Environmentalists have not been without some successful counter-attacks on the Stalinists they still wish to destroy.  Their endless environmental "concerns" have succeeded in devaluing property in the recent "housing bubble burst".  Additionally, Trotskyite enviros have made it impossible to build more houses and factories in most of the country.  Both of these attacks threaten the Stalinists' funding of public education by reducing the building of more factories, offices, and homes.

In some places, the Trotskyite-enviro attack has been so effective that funding is actually threatened in an America where private property still exists only because it can be taxed with wondrous effectiveness to support the Stalinist Empire.   Worse, the Trotskyite environmentalists have caused such economic distress by rapidly increasing food, energy, and transportation costs that property owners have less money to pay the property taxes that support the Stalinist empire.

That opens the door for ordinary citizens to get onto school boards and legislatures where they will, at least until they understand that they can get jobs and scholarships for friends and relatives in the huge Stalinist structure, work to reduce taxes and spending.  Trotskyite enviros have put the vast public education funding structure, which extends from pre-Kindergarten to endless, and lucrative, post-graduate certification programs, at risk.  The more alert Stalinists see the threat, and are reacting to it.  Suddenly, the view that "environmentalism is overdone" has begun to take hold.

Some may see the rise of McCain-Palin as the result of smarter Stalinists protecting their funding mechanism from Trotskyite Environmentalists.  Their unawareness of the Stalinst counter-attack against them comes from the rationality-destroying rancid bitterness that makes them almost quiver with continual anger about nearly everything to such a degree that only a few well-placed counter-attacks are necessary to puncture their fragile balloons.

If they are not smarter, the Stalinists are generally more effective than the Trotskyites.  Stalinists know that Palin is far more appealing than the personification of hypocrisy represented by pro-choice Catholic Joe Biden.  Similarly, the other ambitious Trotskyite, Obama, is going to be blown out of the water by the more reliably Stalinist-oriented Clintonistas, enough of whom may cross over to McCain-Palin to ensure his defeat.  Stalinists have sacrificed, temporarily, Hillary Clinton in order to smash the Trotskyite wing of the Democratic Party by letting it rise only so that it will destroy itself, with a little help from them, with its own, innate incompetence.  That coming destruction is already painfully obvious.

It's impossible to understand American politics without remembering what Stalin did to Trotsky.

                                                     The magical appearance of candidates.

There has been no real examination of Obama, from his oddly contrived birth certificate through today.   When one wonders how he rose so rapidly, and who paid the bills for that amazing ascent, we can find interesting information on obamawatch:

In contrast to the focus on Palin and her family, the Post on August 24 ran a 10,000-word piece about Barack Obama's growing-up years in Hawaii that completely ignored the role of his acknowledged mentor, communist Frank Marshall Davis. There was not one word devoted to an identified communist, who also stands accused of drug use, alcohol abuse, and child molesting, being in intimate contact with the Democratic presidential nominee for about nine years of his young life.

(That last sentence may have to be read a few times to sink in, while remembering that Obama had already been abandoned by at least two father-figures before being dumped off at his grandparents.)

The author of that Post story, David Maraniss, told us that he didn't think Frank Marshall Davis was worth even one mention in that 10,000-word story. (Amazing!)  He even said that Obama's own book was incorrect in ascribing a significant role to Davis in mentoring the candidate. (Even more amazing, saying that Senator Obama lied in his own autobiography!)  As the facts show, Davis became Obama's father-figure when his real father abandoned the family. The mystery is why Obama only referred to Davis as "Frank" in his book and concealed his true identity. But the Post doesn't want its readers to know anything about it. But we do have a right to know that Bristol Palin is pregnant.

It will be coming out that Obama's mentor, Davis, was the subject of an FBI investigation for 19 years and that his FBI file is 600 pages long. Davis was included in the FBI's "security index," meaning that he could be arrested and detained in the event of a national security emergency. But the young person he sent off to college, who would admittedly attend socialist conferences and pick Marxist professors as his friends, doesn't have to undergo an FBI background check and will run the FBI should he become president.

In contrast to the coverage of Palin, the major media have not highlighted that, for all of his "experience" in foreign affairs, Senator Joseph Biden, the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, is an exposed and admitted plagiarist. I have watched countless hours of coverage of the campaign on the cable and broadcast networks and haven't seen one detailed story about Biden's history of plagiarism. But can you imagine the outcry if it came out that Palin, who graduated from college in journalism and became a sportscaster, had been caught plagiarizing?

Who was paying Obama's bills?  Also from obamawatch:

New evidence has emerged that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was closely associated as early as age 25 to a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black Panthers. In a videotaped interview this year on New York's all news cable channel NY1, a prominent African-American businessman and political figure made the curious disclosures about Obama. Percy Sutton, the former borough president of Manhattan, off-handedly revealed the unusual circumstances about his first encounter with the young Obama.

"I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him," Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter. "The friend's name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas," Sutton said. "He is the principal adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama."

Sutton, the founder of Inner City Broadcasting, said al-Mansour contacted him to ask a favor: Would Sutton write a letter in support of Obama's application to Harvard Law School? "He wrote to me about him," Sutton recalled. "And his introduction was there is a young man that has applied to Harvard. I know that you have a few friends up there because you used to go up there to speak. Would you please write a letter in support of him?"

Sutton said he acted on his friend al-Mansour's advice. "I wrote a letter of support of him to my friends at Harvard, saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I certainly hoped they would treat him kindly," Sutton told NY1. Sutton did not say why al-Mansour was helping Obama, how he discovered him, or from whom he was raising money on Obama's behalf. A Sutton aide told Newsmax that Sutton, 88, is ailing and is unlikely to do additional TV interviews in the near future. The aide could not provide additional comment for this story.

As it turned out, Obama did attend Harvard Law School after graduating from Columbia University in New York and doing a stint as a community organizer in Chicago. The New York Times described how transformative his Harvard experience became for the young Obama: "He arrived there as an unknown, Afro-wearing community organizer who had spent years searching for his identity; by the time he left, he had his first national news media exposure, a book contract and a shot of confidence from running the most powerful legal journal in the country."

The details of Obama's academic performance are well known: At Harvard, Obama rose to academic distinction becoming the editor of the Harvard Law Review and graduating magna cum laude. Less known are the reasons al-Mansour, an activist African-American Muslim, would be a key backer for a young man from Hawaii seeking to attend the most Ivy of the Ivy League law schools.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax from his home in San Antonio, Texas, al-Mansour said he would not comment specifically on the statement by Percy Sutton because he was afraid anything he said would get "distorted." "I was determined I was never going to be in that situation," he said. "Bloggers are saying this is the new Rev. Wright - in drag! - and he is a nationalist, racist, and worse than Rev. Wright. So any statement that I made would only further this activity which is not in the interest of Barack."

But in the lengthy interview, al-Mansour confirmed that he frequently spoke on university campuses, including Columbia, where Percy Sutton suggested he met Obama in the late 1980s, and confirmed his close relationship with Prince Alwaleed. "I am not surprised to learn about this," said Niger Innis, spokesman of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). "It is clear that Barack Obama's ties to the left are familial, generational, and have lasted for several years."

Monthly weather update.  It was a cold August.

The ascending green line represents carbon dioxide levels.  It is closely measured, but is obviously meaningless in its effect on global temperatures.  The dotted line represents the smoothing of dropping temperatures that reflect lower global temperatures.  The jagged line shows the actual temperatures, indicating that August was the fifth or sixth coldest month since 2002.

Many are still unable to see that there is no global warming on our globe.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  We can see that the green line has stopped ascending as rapidly in the last couple of months.  This means that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere seems to have stopped increasing.  One small, little known group of concerned citizens is responsible for this.

These deeply concerned citizens know that the countless quadrillions of tiny bubbles that come to the surface and explode into the atmosphere like micro-bombs when cans of soda or beer are opened or poured daily around the world are made of pure carbon dioxide.  That's a lot of deadly carbon dioxide exploding all over the planet!

Every time that we pour any carbonated beverage, we are polluting our precious atmosphere with ever more of the deadly greenhouse gas.

Concerned, eco-sensitive beer drinkers around the world are voluntarily working to eliminate this dreaded pollution.  In recent years, knowledgeable drinkers of beer, gin and tonics, and other carbonated beverages have boldly and bravely joined the battle to protect the planet.

Drinking any carbonated beverage as quickly as humanly possible reduces the greenhouse gases that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere.  As a result of this totally voluntary practice spreading among billions of concerned global citizens, those involved in "Drink Fast, Save the Planet!" are proud to announce that this year, despite expectations from alarmists, the polar icecap did not melt, but is actually larger than last year.

We should all drink our carbonated beverages more quickly.  The world depends on it, and as the chart shows, our plan is working.

Additional note:

It has been determined by scientific research that straws, tightly fitted into snug caps on glasses, keep even more deadly carbon dioxide from being emitted from open containers.  Each drinking straw should have a tiny lid to keep the carbon dioxide from polluting the atmosphere when a drink is not actually being drunk.

When faster drinking of carbonated beverages is combined with the technical achievements of properly used lidded straws tightly wedged into closely fitting drink caps, polar ice is projected to totally cover every part of the earth north of Hudson's Bay within the next hundred months.

No matter how inconvenient it is, drinking habits must be changed, all over the world.

                                                                   Real liberals.

The recent rise in Republican polls has caused many on the left to attack things that liberals know are just plain "wrong".   Liberals are fighting among themselves as to who is truly liberal and can be most trusted to make the necessary judgments.  A guideline:

1.  Real liberals have donated at least one kidney to an anonymous AIDS sufferer.

2.  True liberals have made the transition from SUV to Prius to bicycle to bug-crushing birkenstock to flip-flops, and now go barefoot to avoid "damage to the planet".  Having, at most, only one kidney, they are not able to walk far, which "helps in the battle to save the earth".

3.  The truly liberal spend their vacations helping the Cuban People bring in the sugar cane harvest.  Due to their diet, overall health, and their innate proclivity to spend most of their time encouraging the other workers to do more, they may only be able to bring in a half-dozen sugar canes a day, but, at least they are there.

4.  Those who understand have made the transition from single-malt scotch to white wine to bottled water to tap water to holding their upturned open mouths to raindrops or licking the dew off natural surfaces.

5.  Concerned people have gone from mansion to solar/wind powered trailer to tiny hut to small, branch and leaf covered holes in ground left naturally when trees are blown over by the high winds from global warming.

6.  People who eat "properly" have gone from prime rib to shrimp scampi to semi-vegan to total vegan to only ingesting edible parts of plants that have died a natural death.

Who is St. George?  We are.  What is he killing?  What we should kill within ourselves.

We've all seen paintings of St. George destroying an evil being.  To Catholic Fundamentalists, there is another, inner meaning.  The evil spirit, which has taken physical form in the painting, may be seen as one of the many embodied sins that work within our own minds to lead us into sin.  Our own soul rides on the faith and wisdom of The Church, which is symbolized by the horse.  Each of us either kills the sin that attacks us, or it destroys us.

The embodied sin will not always begin by attacking us directly, but often starts by trying to cripple the horse so that we can no longer ride effectively against him.

                                                        Comparing St. George with Beowulf.

When Beowulf fought the monster Grendel in the mead hall of King Hrothgar, his weapons did him no good.  Arrows bounced off Grendel, and Beowulf's sword could not cut him.  He was forced to wrestle Grendel, pulling off his arm and killing the beast.

St. George kills the personification of evil with a lance.  In many of the paintings, St. George's lance is thin, barely bigger in diameter than a pencil at the end.

Saint George and the Dragon

In this painting, we see how incredibly thin the lance is.  We also see two openings, the cave to the left that descends into Hell, from which the evil spirit came, and the tunnel in the cloud formation on the upper right, below the waning moon, that leads to God's House in Heaven.  Obviously, God has sent the necessary aid to St. George, some of which is obvious in the strengthening of the very thin lance, a lance far too thin to keep its wood unsplintered as it pierces the thick skin and skull of the writhing dragon without Divine Assistance.

When we compare that with bare-handed Beowulf fighting to the death against another personified evil, we see one difference between Catholic and Protestant.  While Beowulf is a Catholic allegory (twelve men were with him when he went by boat to the Kingdom of the Geats) of the battle with evil, it's more of a do-it-yourself conflict from a region only shortly before having become familiar with Catholicism.  St. George, from an area of much longer Catholic history, asks for, and receives, God's help in his battle.

Considering the filth, stench, and blood of both Grendel and a dragon, one at least stays cleaner when asking God and His Saints and Angels for help in our own battles against the evils within and without our own minds, rather than grappling with them ourselves.

                                                                St. George and St. George.

When Moslim terrorists attacked America on this date, President George W. Bush fought back.  At first, the Culture of Death supported him.  When it became apparent that he meant to continue the fight, their natural hatred of their neighbors reasserted itself, and they castigated him vigorously.

After he refined his strategy, he began to win.  Those in the culture of death hated him all the more.

Some are on the side of the dragon.

Looking at what passes for thinking among liberals.

A column written by the author of the Vagina Monologues about the nomination of Governor Sarah Palin is instructive.  Comments in color:

"I am having Sarah Palin nightmares. (Why?  Governor Palin is pro-life.) I dreamt last night that she was a member of a club where they rode snowmobiles and wore the claws of drowned and starved polar bears around their necks. (Oh, my!  Dressing like native Americans should be a crime!) I have a particular thing for Polar Bears. (So?) Maybe it's their snowy whiteness or their bigness or the fact that they live in the arctic or that I have never seen one in person or touched one. (I like them tremendously, but I have never been bothered going to a zoo to watch them tear apart chunks of meat.) Maybe it is the fact that they live so comfortably on ice. Whatever it is, I need the polar bears. (Not half as much as some common sense.)

I don't like raging at women. (But, I’m about to!) I am a Feminist and have spent my life trying to build community, help empower women and stop violence against them. (Sounds like a community organizer who’s a sexist at the same time.) It is hard to write about Sarah Palin. (But, I’m going to because I must.  I just must!) This is why the Sarah Palin choice was all the more insidious and cynical. (Because she doesn't’t think like one of us, in the Culture of Death.) The people who made this choice count on the goodness and solidarity of Feminists. (They think we're more concerned about the well-being of all women than we are about "thinking properly".)

"But everything Sarah Palin believes in and practices is antithetical to Feminism which for me is part of one story -- connected to saving the earth, ending racism, empowering women, giving young girls options, (One such option is explored by the lesbian rape of a 13 year old girl in the Vagina Monologues, opening some real "options" for the poor, abused girl.) opening our minds, deepening tolerance, and ending violence and war. (But, we don’t care much about saving the lives of the very young girls who are aborted, often just because they are girls.  Their right to life is not as important as our right to kill.  We also don’t care one bit about the hundreds of millions of women suffering under oppressive tyranny that subjects them to “honor” killings, painful clitorectomies, and a lifetime of virtual slavery with no political rights at all.  We are far, far above caring about such mundane things as a half-billion women living in oppression.)

I believe that the McCain/Palin ticket is one of the most dangerous choices of my lifetime, and should this country chose those candidates the fall-out may be so great, the destruction so vast in so many areas that America may never recover (from sinking into the amoral destruction that I prefer). But what is equally disturbing is the impact that duo would have on the rest of the world. (Might interject some nonsense about the sanctity human life.) Unfortunately, this is not a joke. In my lifetime I have seen the clownish, the inept, the bizarre be elected to the presidency with regularity. (We all remember Jimmy Carter, fighting against energy terrorism with his deadly cardigan.)
Sarah Palin does not believe in evolution. (Oh, no!  She doesn't think the way we do, therefore, she must be wrong.)  I take this as a metaphor. (My entire life has been spent taking things in metaphors.  It's a great way to avoid truth, and I highly recommend it.)  In her world and the world of Fundamentalists nothing changes or gets better or evolves. (Utterly untrue.  Fundamentalists understand that God’s plan provides a world in which those who love God and their neighbors are separated from those who chose to embrace the Culture of Death.)  She does not believe in global warming. (Does any rational analyzer of global temperatures?  Temps have been dropping for the past five years, last month’s sunspots, indicating solar output, were the lowest since 1913.) The melting of the arctic, (The area covered by Arctic ice is growing.) the storms that are destroying our cities (have always been around), the pollution and rise of cancers, (cancer deaths have been dropping) are all part of God's plan. She is fighting to take the polar bears off the endangered species list. (Gov. Palin's position is very reasonable. Polar bears are not endangered, their numbers are growing, with three or four times more polar bears now than just a few decades ago.) The earth, in Palin's view, is here to be taken and plundered. (She never said that.  She just wants to drill a few oil wells in an area the size of a couple of airports in a place that no one goes.) The wolves and the bears are here to be shot and plundered. (Not quite sure how one plunders a wolf or bear, but shooting wolves and bears does save thousands of caribou and seals.) The oil is here to be taken and plundered. (Does it care?) Iraq is here to be taken and plundered. (The only American troops who tried to take some money out of Iraq were arrested and jailed.) As she said herself of the Iraqi war, "It was a task from God." (Maybe it was.)

Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion. (Neither do the babies who struggle mightily to avoid the abortionists’ cold forceps.) She does not believe women who are raped and incested and ripped open against their will should have a right to determine whether they have their rapist's baby or not.  (To be fair, let’s wait until the baby is old enough to decide if he or she wants to be ripped apart.)

She obviously does not believe in sex education or birth control. (Not obvious at all.) I imagine her daughter was practicing abstinence and we know how many babies that makes. (Actually, it doesn't "make" any.)

Sarah Palin does not much believe in thinking. (She got elected Mayor, and then Governor, by not thinking?  Or, is “thinking” defined as the bizarre thought-patterns liberals invent to justify what they want?) From what I gather she has tried to ban books from the library, (You seem to gather wrong, but, most libraries take great delight in banning books that liberals don’t like by not buying them.  No liberal calls that “censorship”.)  has a tendency to dispense with people who think independently. She cannot tolerate an environment of ambiguity and difference. (Few sane people can.)  This is a woman who could and might very well be the next president of the United States. She would govern one of the most diverse populations on the earth.  (Hope so!)

Sarah believes in guns. (So did George and Martha Washington.)   She has her own custom Austrian hunting rifle. (Wish I could afford one.)  She has been known to kill 40 caribou at a clip. (Forty caribou at a clip?  Forty caribou at a clip?)  She has shot hundreds of wolves from the air. (Thereby saving thousands of caribou.)

Sarah believes in God. (No one should do that.  Makes people take those pesky Commandments seriously.) That is of course her right, her private right. (Thank you!) But when God and Guns come together in the public sector, when war is declared in God's name (Is it wrong when middle-eastern terrorists do that?  Not one person in the Bush Administration declared war "in God's name".), when the rights of women are denied in his name, that is the end of separation of church and state and the undoing of everything America has ever tried to be. (Certainly can’t have the rights of the unborn getting in the way of what liberals want.)

I write to my sisters. (Not sisters as we know them, but as women who might dare to think differently than me.) I write because I believe we hold this election in our hands. (And that’s more important than protecting the unborn, whose lives we also hold in our hands.) This vote is a vote that will determine the future not just of the U.S., but of the planet. (No liberal can write more than a few paragraphs before showing how important their goals are to “the planet”.)  It will determine whether we create policies to save the earth or make it forever uninhabitable for humans. (And that’s what conservatives want to do, destroy their own children's’ home, while she and her fellow travelers merely want to destroy the children, themselves.) It will determine whether we move towards dialogue and diplomacy (Caving in to evil.) in the world or whether we escalate violence through invasion, undermining and attack. (Actually standing up for our own interests is always BAD!)  It will determine whether we go for oil, strip mining, coal burning (Nothing much wrong with those things, considering that the “planet” is cleaner now than ever, except for the occasional volcano, which are Republican in nature.) or invest our money in alternatives that will free us from dependency and destruction (And, wasting that money on wind power that costs $1.20/kwh rather than being independent with nuclear power at a nickel/kwh.) It will determine if money gets spent on education (We're now spending about $12,000/year/child with the lowest reading and math skills in history!) and healthcare (Which has been screwed up by every government that’s meddled with it.) or whether we build more and more methods of killing. (Abortion, and the seals and caribou slaughtered by polar bears and wolves is not seen as “killing” by those who blind themselves to it.) It will determine whether America is a free open tolerant society (We haven’t had that since LBJ started stealing trillions from us for a “great society”) or a closed place of fear, fundamentalism and aggression (Fundamentalists are never fearful, looking forward, as we do, to a joyful eternity.  We are also not aggressive, because that would keep us from reaching that goal).

If the Polar Bears don't move you to go and do everything in your power to get Obama elected (not likely)  then consider the chant that filled the hall after Palin spoke at the RNC, "Drill Drill Drill." I think of teeth when I think of drills. (So?) I think of rape (That’s your right, but so what if that’s what you think of?  Some working people might think of more real-world issues, like filling their gas tanks.). I think of destruction (Rather than families being better off with lower energy prices.) I think of domination. (Instead of people dominated by  high energy prices?”)  I think of military exercises that force mindless repetition, emptying the brain of analysis, doubt, ambiguity or dissent. (Drilling on our own land makes war less likely.)  I think of pain. (This kind of thinking has almost turned you into a being that is nothing but pain.  Since it causes you so much agony, you may want to simply stop believing that your "thinking" makes any sense at all.)

Do we want a future of drilling? (Yep.  Can’t come soon enough!) More holes in the ozone, (The ozone hole was one of the first big frauds, driving the price of freon from .99 cents a can to $20.00 for something that can now only be used by a licensed “professional”.  Hiring environmentalists to screech about the naturally-occurring “ozone hole” made the freon manufacturers into billionaires!) in the floor of the sea, (There are already naturally occurring "holes" in the sea floor, with millions of barrels of oil and toxic chemicals gushing out of them.)  more holes in our thinking, (more holes in somebody’s thinking!) in the trust between nations and peoples (Those whom Lenin described as “useful idiots” are big on “trusting”.) more holes in the fabric of this precious thing we call life. (What about the fifty million aborted babies about whose lives you do not say one word in defense?  Isn't each one of them a "hole in the fabric of this precious thing we call life"?)

Instructions from leftist headquarters on how to treat Governor Palin:

We know that what Pravda, the Russian newspaper, tells us is true because Pravda means "truth".  This is what that country's leftist leaders are saying about Sarah Palin, instructing their American and European soul-mates on what to think and say about her:

"Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas before letting rip in front of incredulous audiences while McCain coos in the background, cuts a ridiculous figure as she strives to be taken seriously.

How can anyone whose husband is a member of the Alaska Independence Party and who is running for the Vice Presidency of the Union be taken seriously? How indeed can the Republican Party be taken seriously for not vetting this female, or have they not yet discovered the skeletons in her closet? We have.

So Sarah Palin, Mrs. Hockey Mom housewife-cum-small-town gossip merchant and cheap little guttersnipe, suppose you shut up and allowed real politicians and diplomats to do their work? Threatening Russia with a war is perhaps the most irresponsible thing anyone could do at this moment in time. Have you any idea what a nuclear holocaust is? Have you any notion of the power of Russia’s armed forces? Did you know that Russia has enough missiles to destroy any target anywhere on Earth in seconds?

And have you not forgotten, you pith-headed little bimbo from the back of beyond, that small detail about the slaughter of Russian citizens by Georgians, which started the whole debacle? So next time suppose you keep your mouth shut and while you’re at it, make sure the members of your family keep their legs shut too. Your country has enough failed mothers as it is."

Timothy BANCROFT-HINCHEY

PRAVDA.Ru

P.S.  Now, a week after these instructions were given, we see how completely obedient the leftist media continues to be to their masters in the Kremlin.  At their behest, insults, nit-picking, and vituperation continue to be aimed at Governor Palin.

“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”, Joseph Goebbels

In one, short sentence, a master of propaganda explains all we need to know about problems like global warming, second-hand smoke, obesity, and all the other imaginary problems we're called upon to solve with higher taxes and more regulations.

Today, in what's basically peacetime, the different agencies of the government do most of the playing on our more varied media keyboards.  NASA distorts global warming statistics, the EPA magnifies pollution problems, and education agencies promote more spending on public education to "give everyone a level playing field".

The news is hollow because that's the way it is.  We go through stages in how we hear the discordant tunes.  When we see that they're off-key, we are at first angry.  Then, some of us get to the level of understanding that recognizes that lying is a fundamental aspect of those who have chosen not to worship God.

When we recognize that, we may want to pray for them to turn from the false gods of self and popularity and begin to worship He Who made us all with free will.

"A woman has a right to control her own body."

This, in a nutshell, is the Culture of Death's justification for abortion.   "A woman's right to choose (abortion).", is the hallmark of the lost soul.  It is based on the lie that the baby is a part of the woman.

Since an unborn baby can be removed from the woman without doing immediate damage to her body, it cannot be "part" of her, like her lungs or stomach.  The lie could not be clearer, but those on the left are incapable of seeing that it is a lie.  They have embraced the lie, and made it a part of their thinking, and their thinking cannot be wrong.

We may make analogies:  "A person traveling in a car is not a part of the car."  "A woman hooked up to life support in an ambulance is separate from the ambulance, even if she's on a nine month trip within it."

We know that if a group of people concluded that "2+2+=5", their thinking would be so distorted by the errors in that basic premise that they would be wrong at every arithmetical exercise they attempted.  Just so, their belief that "a woman has a right to her own body", when extended to include a baby that is clearly not part of her own body, distorts their view of almost everything.

Any who refuse to let themselves see that the baby is another entity are easily persuaded to adopt other irrational, erroneous beliefs, though few with results as deadly to the helpless.

                                                                            II.

There are two kinds of liberals.  The "true liberal" does understand and recognize that each abortion kills a baby.  They justify killing the child with the usual "higher purpose" argument that puts an individual's or a group's right to comfort/convenience/economy above that of the helpless baby.   This sort of thinking doesn't go over well with the "mostly" liberal.  They still hide behind the lie that "It's not really a baby."

                                                                            III.

The "liberated" liberals say that murder by abortion is justifiable.  The "less liberated" liberals still need to hide behind the "it's not really a baby" facade.  Both have put themselves into a position where they, themselves, cannot really object to being murdered by someone who claims to have a still-higher purpose.

                                                                              IV.

To believe that unborn babies are not alive is to believe that life is death.  This near-ultimate inconsistency destroys rational analysis of everything.

                                                                              V.

Liberals approach the issue of final judgment in two ways.  The most common beliefs among them is to say one or more of the following:  "There is no soul, there is no judge, so there can be no final judgment."  The "liberated liberals", who understand that each abortion kills a human being, tend to say, "If there is a judgment, I will be judged favorably because I am consistent with my beliefs."  Among them, this position is thought to be "brave".

                                                                               VI.

Catholic Fundamentalism shows us that it is possible that God is the Unprogrammed Programmer, a Being with the ability to program particles, compile them into systems and beings with amazing speed, and program us free-will creatures to live in those programs.  That may lead the more imaginative to understand that there is, at the very least, the possibility of final judgment of their own souls.  From this, it is possible to move closer to God.

                                                Differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Every election cycle shows a recurring theme:  Democrats revel in insulting Republicans.  Insults stream out of their mouths and keyboards.  Balance and fairness are lost, and on purpose.

Elections give low-level, partisan Democrats the opportunity to give vent to what they're best at, giving vent.  The name-calling, nit-picking, distortion, and basic bitterness emerges to show what they have made of their inner nature.  Every opposing candidate is called names, their accomplishments ignored, and their mistakes enshrined.

When they meet disagreement, their rage is not focused the argument.  Their fury descends upon the perceived attack on their inner rage that drove them to become Democrats in the first place.  Their very being is questioned by their opponents, and they don't like it.  So, those who disagree are quickly called names, as well.  Soon, the country is divided between those who like to call names, and those who vote against them, often voting for calmness as much as anything else.

On a higher level, the name-calling is encouraged.  The unhappy, the disaffected, the perverse, and the selfish heed the call.  Finally, someone recognizes them!  At long last, someone understands that their feelings are important.  All are encouraged to share the outrage, join in the anger, and lust for justice.

Their poor minds sometimes recover, but not always.

                                                              Why they like Obama.

Utterly lacking in experience, and claiming for his own the platform of "change", Obama personifies the feelings of people who have been led to feel they haven't been given a fair shake.   He is what they want to be, with fame, riches, and power over their neighbors given to them only because their "feelings" are so "vitally important".

Those without futures in a free market that demands hard work and intelligent thought want Obama.  They also want more for themselves.  More than a free lunch, they want a free everything.  If their candidate ever gives the impression that they won't get more, they will abandon him.  So, the free lunches get ever bigger.

As the cost of the Obama-like candidates' programs becomes evident, people with something to lose by change suddenly begin to think about voting for Republicans.

Most of us have dim memories of Revolutions in France and Russia, revolutions prompted by a fanatic minority who worshipped "change".  We may want to revisit Dicken's, "A Tale of Two Cities", or reread some books about the gulags.

Do something to cause a problem, blame opponents when the problem occurs.

We've recently seen turmoil in the markets.  The two government-controlled mortgage agencies, Fannie and Freddie, all but collapsed.  At the same time, Lehman went under, Morgan Stanley is shaken, and AIG, the huge insurance behemoth, had to be bailed out.

All these problems were caused by Democrats.  Pretending to want "opportunity and fairness", they forced banks to lend mortgage money to people who couldn't pay it back.  The banks did as they were told.  In a few years, so many mortgages went into default that the entire housing market went bust, along with the financial firms who'd leapt into the bubble.

Now, the same Democrats whose policies and goals caused the disaster are doing the usual;  blaming Republicans for the problem.

                                                              Hating is self-destructive.

In all the world, only one religion says, "Love your neighbor.  Do good to them that hate you."  All the others offer excuses, justifications, and commands to take advantage of, and even kill, those who differ from their own creed.

Hating rebounds on those who hate.  When agencies promoting some form of earth-worship keep others from making a living, they lose tax money from their activities.  When those practicing life-shortening sexual practices die in their forties, they die hating those whose teachings might have saved their lives.

The Third Luminous Mystery celebrates "The Proclamation of the Kingdom".  When we love God, and follow His command to "love your neighbor as yourself.", we become aware that there is another Kingdom, in which His love rules.

It's a wonderful place to live.  There are no contradictions in it.

                                                          Conservatives are more sensitive.

In an article published recently:

"The researchers, whose findings were published today in the journal Science, looked at 46 people who fell into two camps -- liberals who supported foreign aid, immigration, pacifism and gun control; and conservatives who advocated defense spending, capital punishment, patriotism and the Iraq war.

In an initial experiment, subjects were shown a series of images that included a bloody face, maggots in a wound and a spider on a frightened face. A device measured the electrical conductance of their skin, a physiological reaction that indicates fear.

In a second experiment, researchers measured eye blinks -- another indicator of fear -- as subjects responded to sudden blasts of noise.

People with strongly conservative views were three times more fearful than staunch liberals after the effects of gender, age, income and education were factored out."   Kevin B. Smith, a political science professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a study author.

In another comment on the same study:  "Thus, the degree to which individuals are physiologically responsive to threat appears to indicate the degree to which they advocate policies that protect the existing social structure from both external (outgroup) and internal (norm-violator) threats."

Seems like conservatives can relate to events outside themselves.  Those who are more liberal generally avoid any emotional reaction that may lead them to doing something about it.  Liberals are, literally, more hard-hearted.

How much leftists love their neighbors.

From a leftist icon:

“The U.S. is the great enemy of mankind!” said Che Guevara in 1961. “If the nuclear missiles had remained (in Cuba), we would have fired them against the heart of the U.S. including New York City,” he boasted to the London Daily Worker in November of 1962. “Against those hyenas there is no option but extermination. The victory of socialism is well worth millions of atomic victims.”

The speaker is an acknowledged idol of the left.  He is a personification of the hatred they allow to dominate their souls.

Sunday September 21, 2008.

                                                             A fundamental mistake?

Many who love God, truth, and love seem to be crippled by a peculiar sort of innocence.  We believe, "If only they understood the truth about things, they would change."

Sometimes, we meet leftists, and discuss things with them.

We innocents believe that, if we show a global warmer charts that demonstrate conclusively that the world is growing cooler, the global warmer will be happy to learn, grow closer to truth, and focus efforts on more meaningful activities.

Similarly, we innocents believe that if we show a pro-abortionist pictures of a living baby in the womb, struggling to avoid the abortionist's forceps, that they will want to protect the lives of the unborn.

When an environmentalist worries about the extinction of polar bears, we may think they will be happy to know that polar bear populations have been growing steadily, quadrupling in the last forty years.  They are not.

Truth is never a barrier to their beliefs.   They have put themselves into vast, interlocking structures of lies that provide salaries without which many cannot easily maintain their standards of living.  For others, their lies give them reasons to hate.  They love to hate, in varying degrees that can be measured by seeing their positions on all of the issues of the day.  That is why The Programmer has programmed a creation that allows issues of the day to exist.

It is a basic fact that lost souls tend toward hatred and the lies that justify it.  We have a duty to tell them that their hatred will condemn their souls to an eternity of pain, and we are told "do good to them that hurt you", and we should pray for them.  Our bodies grow older.  Our souls, which will spend eternity somewhere, do not.

It may be that one of our duties is to go on making the fundamental mistake we make, arguing innocently for truth, if for no other reason than to keep their own souls from being able to say at Judgment, "No one ever told me what was coming."

We may, in fact, see that the arguments that we innocents make are a fundamental part of the sentencing phase of the Judgment Process for all the souls with whom we come in contact.

                                                                     Bailout.

"Bailing out" is what airplane passengers do if they're fortunate enough to have a parachute when the plane they're on is in trouble.

A person in jail may also be able to "bail out", with the necessary cash and the permission of the court.

The point is, if we're in a place from which we have to bail, we have gotten ourselves into a bad place.

                                                                 An Obama Mystery.

When looking at Mr. Obama's record, one is struck by two things.  By the time he was in his early forties, he had written two autobiographies.  Two.

He did not write about government, history, economics, literature, or anything else.  He wrote about himself.  When we ask ourselves, "How many people do I know who have written one book about themselves, let alone two?", we don't come up with a lot of names.

Winston Churchill wrote history books, and figured in some of them, but he'd been a Prime Minister and held lots of high government offices for decades.  General Grant wrote an autobiography, but only when he was nearly dead from cancer.  He'd won a huge war, served as President, and actually had something interesting to write about.

Mr. Obama, on the other hand, had done little of substance, yet produced two complete books about himself.  No one seems to notice this incredible triumph of style over substance.

But, Mr. Obama's target audience is largely comprised of people who would like to write a biography or two about themselves.  They feel that their own development, their feelings, and their opinions are extraordinarily important.  Reading Mr. Obama's books about himself reminds them them that their own books about themselves need not be written, as long as someone so very much like them is churning out books about himself, and by implication, their own selves, and that manifestation of vanity makes them comfortable with how he "feels" about things.

                                                                         Big choices.

Our biggest choice concerns the biggest result.  That's where we will spend eternity.  If Catholic Fundamentalism is right, we live in a world that has been programmed to keep us from indisputably proving whether or not we have a soul to spend eternity somewhere.

That provides the impetus for a question:  "Does the realization that we live in a world that does not allow us to indisputably prove something as basic as whether or not we each have an immortal soul lead us to conclude that, in fact, we do have an immortal soul?"

There are a few beliefs that have been common when thinking of souls.

     1.  Some believe that their souls were in some other being before they were in their present body, and that   they will be in some other being after they leave their present body.

     2.  Others believe there is no soul at all.

     3.  Some believe that their soul will attain paradise if they kill those who differ from them.

     4.  Others believe that their soul will go to Heaven if they love those who differ from them.

     5.  Some believe that, if there are souls, all, or nearly all, will go to Heaven.

     6.  Others believe that all, or nearly all, souls are condemned to a well-deserved punishment.

     7.  Some believe that souls, if they exist, go to some neutral place where there is neither joy nor pain.

The differences between #3 and #4 are most striking.  Both Christians and Moslems have concluded that there are immortal souls.  Both religions have also concluded that there is a Judgment.  They further agree that at Judgment, souls will be assigned their just desserts for eternity.  The main difference is that for one, loving and forgiving is the prerequisite to salvation.  For the other, hating and killing is the only way to get to the same place.

As the old saying goes, "You pays yer money 'n you takes yer choice."

On the left, Trotskyites are winning, Stalinists losing.

The recent reductions in the value of real estate were caused by Congressional Trotskyites.  They cleverly forced banks to give mortgages to people who had no realistic way of paying for them.  When they couldn't pay, they went into foreclosure.  The plummeting property values hurt the entire economy.  Now, we're all stuck, but no one more than the Stalinists in their shaken empire of Public Education.  The drop in appraised values of homes reduces the taxes those properties pay that support the millions of Stalinists in their comfortable, but weakened, system.  Trotskyites knew that would happen.

The Stalinists were first blind-sided, then sand-bagged.   They gave in to the "fairness for all" message the Trotskyites trumpeted from the housetops.  Public educationists, all with above-average incomes, tenure, huge benefit packages, short hours, and lush pensions were too comfortable to fight to protect their own source of funding.

The second prong of the Trotskyite attack was launched by their fast-moving environmental wing.  Moving with the speed of Mongol cavalry, their new rules and regulations "to protect the planet" have made it so difficult to build new houses that the usual, automatic increase in property taxes provided by new building disappeared.  Trotskyites knew that would happen, too.

Stalinists appear to be on the ropes, paralyzed by their own success.  So far, their responses have been weak.  Sure, there's been a little bit of Stalinist recognition of the fact that global warming is caused by solar cycles, and there has been an attempted bailout of the system that will cost American taxpayers another trillion dollars, but the Stalinists seem almost crippled in their ability to respond effectively.  Their best defense, the truth, is something that no one living in a pyramid of lies likes to use.

Both of the Clintons, and others on the Stalinist side, are quietly pushing for McCain's election.  In the next weeks, we will see growing support for McCain from the old-line Stalinists.

                                                                 Anchoring a soul.

There is a force that feeds on the precious energy that is in each human soul.  It can only ingest a soul that allows itself to be consumed.  Sin weakens the soul, and makes it "edible" to that evil force.

Many souls allow themselves to be consumed by the desire for physical pleasure.  That leads to a desire for more of the same, and, eventually, death.  The greater the sin, the sooner death comes.

Other souls allow themselves to be consumed by needs for physical objects.  Many will exchange their soul for power over their neighbors.

It helps many of us to re-define God as The Unprogrammed Programmer.  Understanding that He, Who can program particles, compile them into systems that support His most complicated programs, beings with free will, has programmed each soul with the ability to be eternally happy with Him.

Ordering our lives to do what is best for our soul is the smartest thing we can do.  Any who lead us from that goal wish to devour our soul.  Many have thought it reasonable to conclude from Scripture that about half the souls will be saved.

                                                                           II.

Many of us have dogs.  Dogs were programmed to have a certain amount of free will.  Some dogs are more obedient than others.  Those are the dogs we prefer.  We human programs were provided proximity to the dog programs so that we could see that just as we prefer obedient dogs, The Programmer prefers human beings who obey His commands.   We should anchor our souls in obedience to those commands.

                                                                     The vanities.

Things of the world are important to the worldly, which is why they're called "worldly".  Vast support structures exist to get people interested in various things of the world.  Such concerns include clothing, real estate, transportation devices, wine, food, antiquities and collectibles.  Since these sort of things take money, the love of it is at the root of such desires.

It is hard to have more than a few worldly concerns at one time.  That's why most of our lives, in retrospect, show our travels from one worldly interest to another in which we collect a succession of things or experiences before having moved on to others.

There is nothing of permanent importance in most of our concerns.  In fact, the concerns in which we are encouraged to participate are specifically designed to distract us from things of permanent importance.  The hollowness of those entranced exclusively with temporalities grows more obvious with age.

The things that attract us are similar to flypaper, the glue thereon having the power to attach our souls to dead things.

                                                                    Clouds of lies.

Clouds keep sunlight from falling directly upon us.  We can often see the clouds' shadows moving toward us.  From a high vantage point, we can watch their shadows move across the ground.

From a high place, we can also watch intellectual and spiritual clouds; dark shadows of lies moving across the minds of those below.  Seeing them often makes us cry out, "Watch out!  Your eyes are dimmed!  You are blind to the awful mistakes you are making!"

We must not grow weary of that, tiring though it is.  Our strength is maintained if keep ourselves alert to the tiny clouds of lies in our own minds that keep us from seeing the importance of obeying God's command to love both Him and our neighbors.

                                                                 Hating What Works.

What works:                                                                          What liberals want instead:

1.  Nuclear power produces electricity for about                 1.  Wind power, which costs $1.20/kwh, when the two cents/ \kwh.  It can be sold for a nickel/kwh,                   wind blows hard enough, about 1/3 of the time.

and everyone has plenty of clean, affordable power.

2.  Stable family structures.                                                  2.  No-fault divorce.

3.  Cheap fuel, pumped from naturally produced                 3.  Bicycles, public transportation.

hydrocarbons deep underground.

4.  People who do good because they know that's              4.  Wrecking belief systems that put anything ahead of what God wants them to do.                                                  of the importance of their own desires.

5.  Adapting to natural changes in temperatures,                5.  Using the cycles of nature to justify more taxation and rainfall, and wind as necessary.                                           and regulation while blaming "the rich" for every                                                                                                     possible problem.

6.  Letting people make decisions at                                    6.  Top-down management of every possible human

Subsidiarity.

7.  Using proven methods of teaching reading and              7.  Using the most ineffective means possible in

writing and arithmetic.                                                                order to produce intellectually helpless

                                                                                                      populations.

8.  Big Macs and whole milk, well-balanced                         8.  Locally-procuded Organic food that deprives the

9.  Meaningful, symbolic, uplifting art and                            9.  Meaningless, confusing claptrap.

literature.

We can better understand the common disorder of Hating What Works by considering the concept developed by the ancient Romans.  They personified those who Hate What Works with their God, Dis.  As Dante frequently reminds us, Dis is their God of Confusion, and has worked ever since the earliest days in The Garden to separate human beings from order.

An implication of the fact that we "are made in the image of God".

The Book of Revelations tells us that twenty four Elders sit in thrones arranged in a circle around the Throne of God.  Each Elder holds a golden bowl, full of prayers that have turned into incense.  The same incense is also burned on the Altar before Him.

We are told that the prayers are those of "the saints".  Most interpreters believe that "the saints" include all believers who pray, rather than only those who've been officially canonized.  If they are right, then we have a clue as to the relationship between this world and the one above.

One may assume that there is the same sort of relationship with requests for evil.  Those requests accumulate around the personification of evil in the world below.  There, curses pile up like bad smells, horrid sounds, and pain.

Just as God made angels with the freedom to reject Him, He made us with the same ability.  Those who reject Him are free to produce either prayers or curses.  Whichever we choose takes form in one of the two worlds beyond.

We each choose what we ask for and where those requests will go.  It may help us to make the best decision if we consider that our souls will end up at the same place we've been piling up requests.

                                                              Election considerations.

There are problems in several areas of the economy.  It's easy to see what, and who, caused those problems.

     1.  Fuel.  Gasoline and diesel prices have hit record highs.  The reason is simple.  Democrats, despite pleas from Republicans, have refused to allow more drilling.  They say it's to "save the planet".  It's really to get campaign contributions (bribes?) from foreign oil producers.

     2.  Housing.  Democrats forced banks to lend money to people who could not pay it back.  Inevitably, many of those people could not make their payments and defaulted.  That has made us all poorer, even those who bought the homes they couldn't afford.

     3.  Electricity.  The lifeblood of the nation, electricity prices have doubled and tripled in many places.  Ignoring the fact that nuclear power reliably and safely produces clean power that can be profitably delivered and sold for less than a nickel per kilowatt hour, Democrats have been wasting billions on "hippy power" like windmills.  They do produce electricity, maybe for a week or so out of every month, but it costs $1.20/kwh.

A half-dozen new nuclear reactors in Pennsylvania, alone, would do more to make that state more prosperous than a million windmills, a thousand bio-fuel boondoggles, and endless solar collectors.  No Democrat will work to get those reactors built.  Instead, they will work to keep them from being built.

In all three areas, Democrats have turned their backs on things that work and embraced ideas that simply do not work.  As the consequences of their actions become apparent, they simply blame Republicans.

We are all poorer because of it.

                                                               Remembering basics.

It's so easy to get caught up in the lies of the other side that we forget some of the basic truths that have brought us together.

     1.  God the Father, The Programmer, can program particles.  He compiled those particles into systems.  Then, he compiled some of those systems into beings.  His programming and compilations were done with amazing speed, as described in the early part of The Programming Log.

     2.  His most complicated beings are those with free will.

     3.  Everything that He programmed, or had His angels program, was done to provide free will creatures with all that they would need to choose whether or not they would choose to align their souls with His Programming Instructions.

     4.  He has provided The Roman Catholic Church to transmit His Programming Instructions through ages He has also programmed to successively appear.

     5.  Everything we see is either His Program or a corruption of it.  All corruptions come from the hatred and bitterness of the Virus, who hates The Programmer and all who operate according to His Instructions.
