Catholics see each mind as a “little universe”. It is filled with images of the galaxies, stars, planets, molecules, atoms, systems, and beings that whirl in the “big universe” beyond.
Our “little universe” reflects the complexity of the “big universe” outside.
Many organize their “little universe” around: “I want what I want when I want it!”
Others see that self-gratification turns into disorder, death, and destruction. They decide: “I want to live in peace and harmony.”
Moses brought the beginnings of peace and harmony down from Mt. Sinai. The world became a better place as more people began to shun lust, theft, lying, and killing.
When He Whom the Prophets predicted came to earth, it became clear: Each person had an immortal soul as the center of his or her “little universe”. That soul went to Judgment. That idea made the world an even better place!
Some began to realize: “My spirit, mind, and body were organized around my soul. My immortal soul will go to Judgment.”Suddenly, the danger of sin became real! “If I obey He Who Fulfilled The Prophecies, I can get to Heaven. If I willfully disobey, I will suffer in hell forever!”
He allowed Himself to be painfully sacrificed as “The Lamb of God”, atoning for the sins of those who would obey His instructions. He wanted those who would obey Him to have a consistent teachings. So, The Word of God brought The Only Church He Founded into being with His Word: “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Catholics move from belief to obedience because Jesus said in John 3:36, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
The more obedient we “little universes” are, the better we obey the teachings of The Only Church He Founded because He was so clear: “. . and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Catholics see each mind as a “little universe”. We strive to align ours with its Creator by obeying all that He instructed.
