Better to pray than complain.

Our state has a liberal, Democratic Governor. He was elected on a platform of “education”, “fairness”, and “a new beginning”. Later, people learned that he was extremely pro-choice.

Leftists coalesced around his campaign. Groups whose benefits and pensions are forcibly taken from their neighbors made huge campaign contributions.

A few weeks ago, I realized: “There are over twelve million people in Pennsylvania. Millions of them dislike our Governor for his pro-choice, high-tax, big government policies. At the same time, millions on the left are angry because he doesn’t give them more money.”

Over three million of our state’s citizens are Catholic. I don’t know a single one of them who asks God to guide our Governor and the First Lady. And, I don’t know any Protestants who pray for them, either.

A few weeks ago, I began to say a Rosary, asking God to guide our Governor and the First Lady. I do so the first thing every morning.

Most of us only complain when officials use their time in office to enrich their supporters. We forget that God has the power to lead officials from favoritism to statesmanship. We should ask Him to use His power for the greater good of all.

Praying is better than complaining. As a result of saying a daily Rosary for our Governor and First Lady, I find myself beginning to see good things in their aspirations that I never noticed.

Each of us should ask God to give Guidance to our State and its leaders. People of good will agree: Better to pray than complain.
