Reading 1

Is 66:10-14c

Thus says the LORD:
Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her,
all you who love her;
exult, exult with her,
all you who were mourning over her!
Oh, that you may suck fully
of the milk of her comfort,
that you may nurse with delight
at her abundant breasts!
For thus says the LORD:
Lo, I will spread prosperity over Jerusalem like a river,
and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent.
As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms,
and fondled in her lap;
as a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;
in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.

When you see this, your heart shall rejoice
and your bodies flourish like the grass;
the LORD's power shall be known to his servants.

Ps 66:1-3, 4-5, 6-7, 16, 20Responsorial Psalm

R. (1) Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth,
sing praise to the glory of his name;
proclaim his glorious praise.
Say to God, "How tremendous are your deeds!"

R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

"Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you,
sing praise to your name!"
Come and see the works of God,
his tremendous deeds among the children of Adam.

R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

He has changed the sea into dry land;
through the river they passed on foot;
therefore let us rejoice in him.
He rules by his might forever.

R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Hear now, all you who fear God, while I declare
what he has done for me.
Blessed be God who refused me not
my prayer or his kindness!
R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Gal 6:14-18Reading 2

Brothers and sisters:
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
through which the world has been crucified to me,
and I to the world.
For neither does circumcision mean anything, nor does uncircumcision,
but only a new creation.
Peace and mercy be to all who follow this rule
and to the Israel of God.

From now on, let no one make troubles for me;
for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit,
brothers and sisters. Amen.

Lk 10:1-12, 17-20 or 10:1-9Gospel

At that time the Lord appointed seventy-two others
whom he sent ahead of him in pairs
to every town and place he intended to visit.
He said to them,
"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.
Go on your way;
behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals;
and greet no one along the way.
Into whatever house you enter, first say,
'Peace to this household.'
If a peaceful person lives there,
your peace will rest on him;
but if not, it will return to you.
Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you,
for the laborer deserves his payment.
Do not move about from one house to another.
Whatever town you enter and they welcome you,
eat what is set before you,
cure the sick in it and say to them,
'The kingdom of God is at hand for you.'
Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you,
go out into the streets and say,
'The dust of your town that clings to our feet,
even that we shake off against you.'
Yet know this: the kingdom of God is at hand.
I tell you,
it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town."

The seventy-two returned rejoicing, and said,
"Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name."
Jesus said, "I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky.
Behold, I have given you the power to 'tread upon serpents' and scorpions
and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you,
but rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation:

When we see Jerusalem as a symbol for all the faithful believers, we see that those who love them (including the angels) are glad, exultant with and for them, and wish to be utterly, joyfully dependent upon the true happiness that comes from belief and obedience.

The Loving Programmer promises to make His believers prosperous, flooding them like a river, and the wealth of all nations a flood.

We who believe will be helped, guided, carried to success because The Loving Programmer loves us as a mother loves her child.

A human program can only find happiness in belief and obedience, only by believing can we be happy, be fruitful, and multiply.

The Power of the Loving Programmer to program, alter, and make His human programs work better will be something that those who obey Him will understand.

Let the programmed entities cry out with joy to He Who lovingly programmed them.

Praise and shout joyfully to He Who Programmed you, programmed entities.  Let Him know that you realize how great His works are.

Let the programmed entities cry out with joy to He Who lovingly programmed them.

Let all the programmed entities cry to The Loving Programmer with joy for having been written into His Program.  Praise Him for having done so.  Then, see what He has programmed among the free-will programs.

Let the programmed entities cry out with joy to He Who lovingly programmed them.

He rewrote the sea and gravity programs to let them cross on dry land, and that should make us rejoice in His power that lets Him rule forever.

Let the programmed entities cry out with joy to He Who lovingly programmed them.

You who fear God (as opposed to those who do not fear and may not be saved) listen while I tell you what he's done for me.  Blessed be He Who said "Yes!" to my requests for His Programming Assistance.

Let the programmed entities cry out with joy to He Who lovingly programmed them.

My fellow believers:  May I never brag about anything I do, but only about Christ's willing sacrifice to save me, and us.  It is an example of how I, and we, must rise above the programmed entities and seek obedience to The Loving Programmer.  Attempts to outwardly follow laws are meaningless, the only thing that counts is being born again into His Kingdom where doing His will is paramount.

Peace and mercy (will) be with those who follow this rule, the chosen people of The Loving Programmer.  From now on, let no one make trouble for me (may I be able to ignore any static between me and Him) for I bear the marks of His suffering on my body.  The grace of (The Program Who took human form and died for us) our Lord, Jesus Christ, be with your spirit, my fellow believers.

Jesus (The Program, in perfect, obedient, human form) appointed six times the number of disciples and sent them in pairs everywhere He planned to visit.  He said:

"There are a large number of souls who could be brought into The Kingdom, but not many working in the field.  So, ask The Loving Programmer for programming assistance that more human programs will choose to take on this hard, difficult work.

"As you begin, remember, I'm sending you out like lambs among wolves.  You don't have much money, no sandals, and are to greet no as go where you are sent.  When you enter a house, (forget conventional greetings) say 'Peace to all here.'  Your peace will rest on peaceful people there, helping their program operate.  If no one there is peaceful, the peace will come back to you.  Stay in the same house, and accept what you are given, for the worker (in the field) deserves recompense.  Don't move from one house to another.  Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what they give you, erase errors in their mind and body programs while explaining 'Your own program may become part of The Living Programmer's.'  If a town doesn't welcome you, go into its streets and say, 'You will no more be able to enter The Loving Programmer's Program than this dust will stay us' as you shake it off your feet.  Always remember that entry into His Kingdom is at hand.  I, (the Living Program, the summing up of all Creation in one being) am telling you, the Kingdom of The Loving Programmer is near.  I tell you, it will be better for Sodom at Judgment than for that town."

The 72 returned, rejoicing, saying:  "Lord, even the living errors are subject to us because of the power of Your Name."

He replied, "I have seen the apostate angel fall like lightning from the sky.  Behold, I have given you the power to walk in and on the most powerful of the living errors and not be harmed.  But, don't be thankful for that, but for the fact that your names are written in Heaven."
