Catholics see an odd fact: Our neighbors don’t get much rest!
Today’s Catholic Bible Reading from Matthew 11:28-30 tells us who does: “Jesus said: ‘Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Then, He Who Fulfilled The Messianic Prophecies gives Three Direct Orders to all who are blessed to “come to Him”, “learn”, and find “rest”:
Direct Order #1: “Take My yoke upon you and
Direct Order #2: “learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and
Direct Order #3: “you will find rest for yourselves.'”
What does Direct Order #1 mean? All who let God’s Words lead them to most meaningfully “come to Jesus” will gratefully put on the “yoke” that is The Church-Creating Word He Spoke to His First Catholic Pope, 2,000 years ago:
“And I say unto you: ‘Thou art Peter, and on this rock I build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
Then, Catholics follow Direct Order #2! We continue to “learn from Him” about the “yoke” that Catholics use to pull our souls to Heaven! We see Joy of Being Catholics when we stop arguing with Any Word of Jesus and use His “yoke” to pull the plow we are blessed to have been given during our days in The Loving Programmer’s Creation Program!
That lets us obey Direct Order #3: “you will find rest for yourselves”!
Catholics make This Catholic Connection! In our day, God’s “yoke” is often a car or truck that needs keys to start moving its load! Today, we see how important it is for us to have “the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven” that Jesus gave His Life to leave to Peter and His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church: Baptism, Confession/Absolution, Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Healing, and God’s Holy Orders.
Those “keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” take living form in every Catholic who does God’s Work by “taking His yoke upon us”.
