Today’s Reading from Matthew 23:1-12 lets us understand the source of every problem on earth. “Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, saying, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.'”
Everyone who does not follow Jesus is in organizations ld by “scribes and Pharisees”. Jesus tells us how to deal with them!
“‘Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example, for they preach but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them.'”
Their goal in life is made clear! “‘All their works are performed to be seen.'” Their god is Public Approval! Their institutionalized lies, from environmentalism to COVID, include every failed educational, media, social, medical, and political structure. Each one is among the “heavy burdens” they “put on people’s shoulders”.
They gain “Public Approval” by ignoring God and enslaving their neighbors. They choose to reject “God’s Approval” by ignoring the Teaching of Moses and Jesus: “Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.”
He Who Fulfilled the Messianic Prophecies promises all who listen to Him of the rewards He Promises we will receive by striving to be as Catholic as we can:
“And, I say unto you: ‘Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.'”.
If we willfully ignore the word “My” that precedes His Word, “Church”, we keep ourselves from The Seven Catholic Sacraments that are among “the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” that Christ died to leave on earth. Those “keys to The Kingdom of Heaven” include Baptism, Confession/Absolution, Communion, Confirmation, Healing, Marriage, and the Holy Orders from God that Catholics are blessed to obey.
Jesus specifically tells us why we must be as Catholic as we can in His Words to His Chosen People: “‘You have but one master, The Christ. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.'”
May we all be blessed to stop “exalting” ourselves by worshipping the vanity of “scribes and Pharisees” who gain Popular Approval by proudly proclaiming: “I know more than Jesus about getting my soul into Heaven!”
