In Today’s Reading, the Prophet Hosea predicts the fate of those who left God and His Temple. They invented the first of their “Golden Calf” religions in nearby Samaria “Thus says the LORD: They made kings in Israel, but not by My authority; they established princes, but without My approval. With their silver and gold, they made idols for themselves, to their own destruction.”
Then, Hosea tells them (and us!) how we may be saved! “Cast away your calf, O Samaria! The work of an artisan, no god at all, is destined for the flames; such is the calf of Samaria!” May all think clearly enough to see the “Hidden Catholic Prophecy”: Since the “artisan’s work is destined for the flames”, then so are the souls of the “artisan”, those who hired them, and those who approved their work!
He explains how the false religions took form in various marketing plans in this “Hidden Catholic Prophecy” of Protestantism’s worst divisions: “When Ephraim made many altars to expiate sin, his altar became occasions of sin… the LORD is not pleased with them. He shall still remember their guilt and punish their sins; they shall return to Egypt.” We may read that again, and see that it is a “Hidden Catholic Prophecy” of willfully disobedient, unrepentant souls being sent to hell.
Today, Psalm 115:3-10 is a “Hidden Prophecy” of Catholics Being Catholic! “The House of Israel trusts in the Lord… Our God is in Heaven; whatever He wills, He does. Their idols are silver and gold, the handiwork of men.”
Both Hosea and the Psalms come together in the “Hidden Catholic Prophecy” of John 10:14, Today’s “Alleluia!” “I am the good shepherd,’ says the Lord; ‘I know My sheep, and Mine know Me.'”
Today’s Gospel, Matthew 9:32-38, tells us that Jesus drove demons out of a mute man, and “the mute man spoke.” That is a “Hidden Catholic Prophecy” of “Being Catholic” and “speaking” the good news of the One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, Specifically Spoken Into Being by He Who Fulfilled the Messianic Prophecies:
“And I say unto you: ‘Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.'”
