Today: All may be blessed to see that WE are IN “The Potter’s House! #69.

Today's Catholic Bible Reading tells every person on earth where we are, how we are doing, AND where our immortal soul is headed. New ideas to read and share about "the potter's house"!

Jeremiah 18:1-6 is a short reading. “This Word came to Jeremiah from The LORD:  ‘Rise up, be off to the potter’s house;  there, I will give you My message.'”

Jeremiah obeyed: “I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, working at the wheel.”

Catholics are blessed with a “New Idea”!

We see “the potter’s house” is a Prophecy of The Catholic Church!  He Who Fulfilled the Messianic Prophecies would Speak “The Potter’s House” Into Being on earth with His Church-Creating Word to The Potter’s First Catholic Pope:  “And, I say unto you:  ‘Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.'”

Catholics see that every person on earth is an “object of clay”. We also see that God and His Catholic priests, religious, parents, grandparents, and loving neighbors work in “the potter’s house” to make us fit for Heaven:  “Whenever the object of clay which He was making turned out badly in His hand, He tried again, making of the clay another object of whatever sort He pleased.”

At every Catholic Confession, and with every Catholic Sacrament, our priest in “the potter’s house” tries to “rework” us so that God may be “pleased” with us at Judgment.  We see that “the potter’s house” is God’s workshop in every Catholic parish on earth!

Catholics realize that God’s Prophet is speaking to every person in the world!  “Then, The Word of The LORD came to me:  ‘Can I not do to you, House of Israel, as this potter has done?’ says The LORD.  Indeed, like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in My Hand, House of Israel.'”

Today, Psalm 146:2-6 puts That Prophecy into Catholic perspective:  “Blessed is he whose help is The God of Jacob, whose hope is in The LORD, His God Who made Heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.”

Then!  The Psalmist tells us how we may “remake our clay” with This Direct Order from God:  “Do not put your trust in princes, in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation.  When his spirit departs, he returns to his earth;  on that day, his plans perish.”!

Today’s “Alleluia”, from Acts 16:14, shows us what we must do to be saved: “Open our heart, O Lord, to listen to the Words of Your Son.”  That, of course, sends us back to The Potter’s Church-Creating Word to Peter in Matthew 16:18-20, quoted above.

Jesus tells us why it is important to be as Catholic as we can (New Word: “bacawec”!) in Matthew 13:47-63, when “Jesus said to the disciples:  ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind.  When it is full, they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets.  What is bad, they throw away.'”

Catholics, and most Christians, know that every piece of “potter’s clay” who rejected God and “put their trust in princes” is condemned at Judgment.  “Thus it will be at the end of the age.  The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Then, He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies asks every person on earth the same question He asked His disciples, 2,000 years ago:  “‘Do you understand all these things?'”

Before our Judgment, may we have our “lump of clay” be blessed by being re-worked in The Potter’s House and “be as Catholic as we can”.
