Seeing God the Father as “The Loving Programmer” lets us begin to understand that “We live in God’s Creation Program”!
How did The Creation Program come to be? Today, computers, cell phones, and the internet help us see The Holy Spirit as “The Downloading Verb of God”. He brought “The Word of God” into Being when “He Downloaded The Creation Program”, over 13 trillion light-years ago.
Who is The Son? Jesus is “The Word of God”. John 1:1 tells us that “In the beginning was the Word: The Word was with God and The Word was God.” The Programmer, Downloader, and Creation Program are described.
He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies is the essence of God’s Love for us. God’s Love may be seen as The Creation Program in Human Form!
Every person on earth is blessed to be one of God’s Beloved “Replicating Free-Will Programs”. We may be blessed to see that God’s Reality began to take form over 13 trillion light-years ago and to realize that He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies is “The Word of God in Human Form”. He IS the essence of God’s Love for us!
That helps Catholics understand Today’s Reading, from Matthew 14:13-21. “When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, He withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by Himself. The crowds (those who were sickened by Herod’s evil murder of God’s Holy Prophet, John the Baptist) heard of this and followed Him on foot from their towns.”
For 2,000 years, many have been blessed to be in the “crowd” of those who are disgusted by the hurtful hate inflicted on people by self-worshipping successors to Herod in every nation on earth. Herod is the symbol of every confused person in History whose self-worship brings them to hate God and their neighbors!
“When He disembarked and saw the vast crowd, His heart was moved with pity for them, and He cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples approached Him, and said, ‘This is a deserted place, and it is already late: dismiss the crowds so they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.’
“Jesus said to them, ‘There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.’ But they said to Him, ‘Five loaves and two fish are all we have.’ Then, He said, ‘Bring them here, to Me’, and He ordered the crowd to sit down on the grass.
“Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to Heaven, He said the blessing, broke the loaves and gave them to His disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the fragments left over, twelve wicker baskets full. Those who ate were about five thousand men, not counting women and children.”
We may consider Catholic connections: Melchizedek gave bread and wine to Abraham at Jerusalem, 80 miles away from Bethsaida, 2,000 years earlier. For the last 2,000 years, Catholic priests have all been “Ordained in The Order of Melchizedek”. They have been providing Catholic Communion in which The Catholic Miracle of Transubstantiation turns bread and wine into His Actual Body and Blood. The word “Beth” is an ancient Hebrew and Aramaic word for “Home”. The Catholic connection between Bethlehem, Bethany, Bethsada, and Bethsaida is as clear as it needs to be. “12 baskets” represent God feeding the 12 “tribes” of people on earth who are blessed to be among the “spiritual children” of Abraham.
In the past 2,000 years, the number of people receiving Holy Food by the Sacrificial Power of Jesus to “speak it into being” has increased from the “5,000 men” and at least three times that many women and children at Bethsaida, to the 1.4 billion Catholics in the world today. May all be blessed to consider The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated 12 times in John 6, and 2 more times at The Last Supper: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”
Is there a simpler reason than Today’s Catholic Bible Reading to see how blessed we are to “Be as Catholic as we can!” and receive God’s Love to heal our bodies, enlighten our minds, and save our souls?
