Today’s Catholic Reading, 2 Kings 4:8-11, 14-16, tells us the Prophet Elisha sometimes stayed with a “woman of influence”. She had her husband “arrange a little room on the roof and furnish it with a bed, table, chair, and lamp so that when he comes to us, he can stay there.”
Elisha asked his servant, “Can something be done for her?” and was told, “She has no son, and her husband is getting along in years.” The Prophet called the woman and, “Elisha promised, “This time next year, you will be fondling a baby son.”
That fulfilled the Prophecies of Psalm 89: 2-3, 16-19, “Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord… through all generations my mouth shall proclaim Your faithfulness… and the Holy One of Israel, our king.”
Catholics are best blessed to understand St. Paul’s letter in Romans: 6:3-4 and 8:11, “Brothers and sisters: Are you unaware that we who were Baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were indeed buried with Him through Baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life… Consequently, you too must think of yourselves as dead to sin and living for God in Christ Jesus.”
Then, Today’s “Alleluia” tells those who follow Jesus: “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…” Catholics are given this order to obey: “announce the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
Today’s Gospel from Matthew 10:37-42 is a “Hidden Prophecy” of how Catholics make our souls let “His wonderful light” shine on our immortal souls!
“Jesus said to His apostles: ‘Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
That is a “Hidden Prophecy” predicting how Catholics are blessed to truly “find life”! We obey The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated 12 times in the last half of John 6, and twice more at The Last Supper: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”
That is Christ’s call to receive Catholic Communion from His Catholic priests! “Whoever receives you receives Me, and whoever receives me receives The One Who sent Me.”!
Every demon in their seven tribes of pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth (The new Catholic word, “peggalas”, helps us keep them in mind.) leads as many as they can as far as they can from obeying The Church-Creating Word of Jesus to His First Catholic Pope:
“And I say unto you: ‘Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.'”
Then, Jesus tells us the rewards of helping people “Be Catholic!” and “Stay Catholic!”
“And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because the little one is a disciple, Amen, I say to you: ‘He will surely not lose his reward.'”

Today’s Simple Rhyme: “May everyone be blessed to pray: / that all on earth may be and stay / Catholic!'”
