In Today’s Reading, Hosea 14:2-10 helps many to “Be As Catholic As We Can!” by focusing on Words from God:
“Thus says the LORD: ‘Return, O Israel, to The LORD, your God; you have collapsed through your guilt.”
When we are blessed to realize that our “collapse” was caused by the “guilt” of putting our desires “before” God, Hosea tells us, “Take with you words and return to the LORD:… ” Catholics do two things!
First, we are blessed to know that: “God will listen to my words!”
Second, Catholics are blessed to ask the Obvious Question! “What ‘words’ should I take to Him?”
Hosea 14:2 gives us these “Saving Words” to God! “Say to Him, ‘Forgive all iniquity and receive what is good, that we may render as offerings the bullocks from our stalls.'” Hosea is clear: We must recognize that our possessions came from God and must be used to show our respect for God.
Then, Hosea tells us not to seek salvation with worldly concerns with these “Words”: “Assyria will not save us, nor shall we have horses to mount; we shall say no more, ‘Our God,’ to the work of our hands.”
The final Words in this passage are a blessing to all who want to get closer to God: “Let him who is wise understand these things; let him who is prudent know them. Straight are the paths of the LORD, in them the just walk, but sinners stumble in them.”
Today, Catholics are blessed by Today’s Psalm 51: 3-17. It was written 200 years before Hosea to tell us what our “Words to God” must include:
“My mouth will declare Your praise… Have mercy on me, O God, in Your goodness; in the greatness of Your compassion, wipe out my offense. Thoroughly wash me from my guilt, and of my sin cleanse me… You teach me wisdom… cleanse me of sin… create a clean heart for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me… O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall proclaim Your praise.”
Then, Today’s Reading takes us to God’s New Testament in “Words” from today’s “Alleluia”. John 16:13 and 14:25: “When The Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you to all truth and remind you of all (The Words!) I told you.”
That leads us to the “Words” that He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies spoke to His First Catholic Pope in Matthew 10: 16-23. Every Catholic strives to follow these “Words” from Him:
“Jesus said to His Apostles: ‘Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But, beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for My sake as a witness before them and the pagans.”
It was grateful obedience to “The Church-Creating Word” from Jesus to His First Catholic Pope that would cause Catholics to be attacked for the next 2,000 years: “And, I say unto you: ‘Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Those who loved themselves more than God hated those who followed that “Word”! For 2,000 years, Catholic priests, religious, and faithful have been attacked by self-worshippers looking for worldly gain instead of God’s Blessings.
What a joy to be so Catholic that we are attacked by them! Their assaults may include “Brother handing over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents, and have them put to death.”
Catholics see those “words” are “Hidden Catholic Prophecies” predicting every unborn “child” killed by what is now state-approved abortion. They foretell that some “children” have their older “parents put to death”. Greedy children have always done that to receive their inheritances more quickly. Countries like Canada have fallen farther into sin. Such states sponsor euthanasia to save billions in pensions and medical costs they no longer pay for older “parents, and have them put to death”.
Jesus also gives Catholics a frightening sense of time with This Prophetic Word: “When they persecute you in one town, flee to another. Amen, I say to you: ‘You will not finish the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.’“
Today, Catholics consider that “finish the towns of Israel” may be a “Hidden Catholic Prophecy” that specifically predicts the nearness of God’s Judgment Day. On July 7, 2026, the Vatican News told us:
“Taybeh, the last entirely Christian Palestinian village in the West Bank, is facing what its parish priest describes as an unprecedented threat to its land, its people and its historic Christian presence.”
