Jesus founded One Church. The founders of 40,000 separate schisms don’t care about that. They identify themselves as “Christian” and pay no attention to the degree of divergence between their home-made “ladder to Heaven” and The Church founded by Jesus.
We begin to get a picture of the size of the schismatic ego when we realize: “Jesus founded One Church. The founder of every Christian schism thinks he is just as good as Jesus.”
We imagine each schism as having been begun by a man who decided “I am going to build my own ladder to Heaven.” The ladders are all short. They don’t last long. No matter. “I did it my way!” the ladder builder announces.
Some schisms believe in free will. Others, determinism. Each schism develops a marketing plan that appeals to some group large enough to provide donations sufficient for survival and growth.
Of all the schisms, one makes a point of resembling The Church Jesus Founded in as many ways as possible. The liturgical rites seem identical. Robes and hats are similar. Ceremonies closely follow Catholic practice. Many of its clerical titles are identical.
From the outside, the Anglican Church “looks” much like The Church Jesus Founded. But, its communion service is a pale imitation, and does not provide The Body and Blood of Christ. It’s “Pope” is whomever happens to be sitting on the throne of England. It cannot provide Absolution through Confession.
It is one of the most wonderfully complex frauds in history. The Anglican Church was not founded by one of The Apostles ordained by Christ. It was begun by a mad schismatic suffering the mental deterioration of syphilis. It’s founder was a serial adulterer. He was a multiple ax-murderer. He stole Church property and gave it to those who’d sell their souls for it.
The Anglican “Pope” presided over the slaughter of more than 70,000 Catholics, executed, often painfully, for the “crime” of worshiping as had their ancestors for a thousand years. Later, Anglican “Popes” would order the slaughter, starvation, and deportation of millions of Irish and Scottish Catholics. In the new world, Anglican “Popes” did not lift a finger to protect the stone age peoples from their land-grabbing subjects, who often exterminated them.
Still, the simple, the shallow, and the ignorant are impressed with the Anglicans’ appearance. “They look like they’re Catholic!” they say, unaware they, like so many generations before, have been deceived by one of the other side’s cleverest marketing plans.
Of the 40,000 schisms, which is worst? There are reasons to consider the Anglicans as the leaders of the lost.
