Bribes and the Effects

It was just announced that uranium mining near the Grand Canyon would be stopped. This follows on the heels of announcements stalling a pipeline that would bring Canadian oil into the United States.

Uranium is the key fuel for the nuclear reactors that produce electricity for two or three cents per KWH. Other providers of power, mostly coal and natural gas, produce power for six or eight cents per kilowatt hour. They do not want more nuclear plants, so they employ environmentalists, today’s “hired guns” to make it seem dangerous.

At the same time, wind and solar producers, whose electricity costs upwards of a dollar/KWH, are even more desperate to demonize nuclear power. So, no uranium mining near the Grand Canyon.

Pipeline Stalled

The pipeline was stalled because it would threaten existing Mid-east, Venezuelan, Mexican, and American oil producers with lower prices and reduced profits. Again, the environmental “hired guns” were brought in to blaze away while “contributions” are made to those who would rather have personal enrichment than cheaper power and more prosperous citizens.

So, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
