How does Today’s Catholic Reading tell us to “Be Catholic!” #43.

"How does Today's Catholic Bible Reading from St. Paul tell us to 'Be Catholic!'?"

Question 1:  “How does Today’s Catholic Bible Reading from St. Paul tell us to ‘Be Catholic!’?”
Answer:  “Only Catholics fully understand 2 Cor, 5:14-17!  ‘Brothers and sisters:  The love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all;  therefore, all have died.’
~
Question 2:  “Does that mean that Catholics are all ‘dead’?”
Answer:  “Unhappy Protestants always ask that question!  ‘He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for Him Who for their sake died and was raised.’
~
Question 3:  “Do Catholic priests and religious prove they have ‘died to themselves’ by taking Holy Vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience?”
Answer:  “Those vows identify everyone who takes All The Words of Jesus, and His Unspoken Way of Life, as a guide to life.   Every Catholic wants to ‘die to ourselves’ when we face sinful temptations.”
~
Question 4:  “How do Catholics do that?”
Answer:  “‘Consequently, from now on we regard no one according to the flesh;  even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him so no longer.’   Catholics try to live for God, and not ourselves.”
~
Question 5:  “When a person is Confirmed as a Catholic, do they become ‘new’?”
.
Answer:   “That’s what The Bible tells us!  ‘So whoever is in Christ is a new creation:  the old things have passed away;  behold, new things have come.’  Catholics become a ‘new creation’ every time we obey The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated 12 times in John, 6 and twice more at The Last Supper:  ‘If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.’
~
Question 6:  “What are the ‘new things’ that have come to every Catholic?”
.
Answer:  “Only Catholics obey The Church-Creating Word of Jesus and get these ‘keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ He gave only to The First Catholic Pope!   ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’
