Three serious spiritual and mental disorders have been discussed in recent days. First, Gloom and Doom Syndrome was briefly covered:
Gloom and Doom Syndrome is the thought pattern that takes any fact, puts it into a series, and shows that if the process is allowed to continue, “billions will die”.
The related sickness, Can’tbetoocarefulitis, infects those with an uncontrollable desire to stop anything useful from being thought, said, or accomplished by another person. It is similar to Gloom and Doom Syndrome in that it takes things to Armageddon-like conclusions. But, Can’tbetoocarefulitis differs from Gloom and Doom Syndrome in that it provides an actual warning to stop anything meaningful.
The third disorder discussed was Tipping Point Fever. That mental malfunction is an advanced form of Can’tbetoocarefulitis. The sufferers develop the nearly incurable habit of putting any thought, word, desire, or deed into a series that automatically ends in universal destruction. It is a more dangerous form of Can’tbetoocarefulitis and is very difficult to treat.
Other maladies of mind and soul must be considered as we try to identify disorders that keep us from eternal joy.
Wereallydon’t know is a great aid in avoiding any fact or opinion that differs from that preferred by the afflicted person. An outburst of Wereallydon’tknow is generally followed by a seemingly automatic recitation of There’snorealproofofthat. Either, or both, of those symptoms may be followed by one of a soul’s more difficult to eradicate sicknesses, Everythingisrelative.
As we search for God’s truth and love, these disorders are hurdles that must be traversed. Knowing that they are there, and that they are dangerous to our soul, should provide the necessary motivation to find a cure in His Truth and Love, despite discovering that we may be thinking to ourselves, even as we read those words about His Truth and Love, Wereallydon’tknow and There’snorealproofofthat.
