America, The European Union, and Robert Rabbit

Wednesday, the Tale of Robert Rabbit was told. Robert had a very long tapeworm living in his intestines. Every day, Tommy Tapeworm took more of Robert’s energy, sapping his mind and body.

Worse, every week or so, Tommy Tapeworm added another segment. He was almost two feet long, twice as long as Robert. But, he was so curled up inside him that Robert didn’t have any idea how big Tommy Tapeworm had grown.

Today, the nations on two continents are struggling to survive. They are on the verge of what once would have been called a “Depression”. Many European countries, forced into a “Union”, have been spending money like water. They are hoping that one or two wealthier nations will not only bail them out, but keep on giving them money to support their boated public sector.

As we learned from Robert Rabbit, if he doesn’t take strong medicine, Tommy Tapeworm will kill him.
