There are several places in Scripture that mention people, sleeping, working, or flanking Jesus on their own crosses. Half of each group is recorded to have been saved.

Among Catholics, some are pro-life. Others are not. It is not unreasonable to assume that the half who are pro-life will be saved.

What about Catholics who practice, or did practice, birth control? This is a sizable group within The Church. When we’re older, and look back on our lives, we realize what awful mistakes we’ve made.

If we say “Well, using birth control wasn’t that bad. Everyone did it, and the priest never said we shouldn’t.”, or make excuses like “We couldn’t afford more children.”, or, “I wanted to do something about over-population.”, we are in trouble.

If, on the other hand, we realize the enormity of our sin, and ask to be forgiven, we will be.

Purgatory is better than hell.
