Absalom and David. Caiaphas and Christ

Most of us are familiar with David, the great King of the twelve Hebrew Tribes. His beloved son, Absalom, was so envious of his father’s position that he planned and executed a revolution.

In the ensuing battle, David won. Absalom was killed, against his father’s specific wishes.

A thousand years later, Christ came. He did miracles. People turned from their old beliefs to something that was both new, and predicted frequently for thousands of years. Leaders of the old religion were jealous. Like Absalom, they tried to kill the King.

Like Absalom, they failed.
