Can’t See the Forest. Too Many Trees in the Way.

A few months ago, I met a very nice, very intelligent young mother. She, her husband, and four children had moved to the country. A primary reason for the move was to be able to grow their own food.

“It does taste better.”, a person said, in agreement.

“Oh, that’s not why we grow our own food. We’re trying to eliminate pesticides, fertilizers, and all the chemicals from what we eat. It’s just better for our bodies.”

The same person asked, “Do you take birth control pills?”

“Yes.”

“Are there any chemicals in any food that are even close to being as disruptive to the body than the chemicals in birth control pills?”

Much hemming and hawing.

We often have similar disconnects in our own mind. We are so used to them that they’re hard to find. They are errors in our individual programs. We may want to spend some of the forty days that start tomorrow asking The Loving Programmer to help us find and erase some similar errors in our own programs.

“Took ’em long enough.”, He may say, as He lovingly directs our Guardian Angel to begin leading us to erase the errors in our own programs.
