Reading 1
1 Kgs 19:9a, 11-13a
At the mountain of God, Horeb,
Elijah came to a cave where he took shelter.
Then the LORD said to him,
“Go outside and stand on the mountain before the LORD;
the LORD will be passing by.”
A strong and heavy wind was rending the mountains
and crushing rocks before the LORD—
but the LORD was not in the wind.
After the wind there was an earthquake—
but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake there was fire—
but the LORD was not in the fire.
After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound.
When he heard this,
Elijah hid his face in his cloak
and went and stood at the entrance of the cave.

I will hear what God proclaims;

Rom 9:1-5Reading II
Brothers and sisters:
I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie;
my conscience joins with the Holy Spirit in bearing me witness
that I have great sorrow and constant anguish in my heart.
For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ
for the sake of my own people,
my kindred according to the flesh.
They are Israelites;
theirs the adoption, the glory, the covenants,
the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises;
theirs the patriarchs, and from them,
according to the flesh, is the Christ,
who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.
Mt 14:22-33Gospel
After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into a boat
and precede him to the other side,
while he dismissed the crowds.
After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.
When it was evening he was there alone.
Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore,
was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it.
During the fourth watch of the night,
he came toward them walking on the sea.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified.
“It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear.
At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply,
“Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.
But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened;
and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught Peter,
and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
After they got into the boat, the wind died down.
Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying,
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”
Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation:
The Loving Programmer gave Elijah access to Him. Elijah followed His Operating Instructions, and left the cave, and stood outside, on the mountain of Horeb.
The Loving Programmer began to alter The Program before Elijah, sending wind to tear the mountains apart. The Program was so changed that the wind was given power to crush rocks.
But, The Loving Programmer was not in what He had programmed.
Then, The Loving Programmer altered the program so that the earth quaked. Then, He downloaded fire. The Loving Programmer was not in the earthquake program. He was not in the fire program.
After the fire program ran its course, there was a tiny, whispering sound. When he heard that, Elijah knew it was The Loving Programmer, and he hid his face.
Loving Programmer, let us see how kind You are to us, and let our souls be uploaded with You forever.
I will download God’s Word, because He desires peace. Those who fear Him are close to being joined with Him, forever, (His) glory living among us.

The Kindness and Truth Programs will meld, as shall the Justice and Peace Programs. The truth of The Creation Program will become apparent and The Justice Program will see (and reign?).
Loving Programmer, let us see how kind You are to us, and let our souls be uploaded with You forever.
The Loving Programmer will alter The Creation Program to help us, and we will have plenty. The Justice Program will be downloaded before Him, and let Him come to us.

Brothers and sisters, I am telling you the truth I have downloaded from The Program, Jesus Christ, who took perfect, obedient, human form and came among us. Part of my own, human program has joined with The Holy Wireless Connector, confirming that I have so much sorrow in my heart because of the unbelieving Jews that I would damn myself if it would save them.
They had all the original downloads and access to those prophets who made the downloads, and will not download the fact that Jesus Christ is the sum total of all the prophets, and He is God, blessed forever.
After He had replicated the fish and loaf programs to such an extent that thousands had enough to eat, Jesus had the disciples get into a boat and go to the other side, while He sent the crowds he’d fed home.
Then, He went up on the mountain, alone, to access The Loving Programmer.
He was still there when it was evening. The boat, a few miles out, was thrown around by the waves, because the wind was against it.
Later, He came toward them, walking on the sea. When His disciples saw Him, they were frightened. “It’s a ghost!”, they assumed, and cried in fear.
He spoke to them immediately, and said, “Download the Courage Program. It’s Me, so you don’t have to be afraid.”
Peter said, “Lord, if it is You, have me come to you, (walking) on the water.”
He said, “Come, and walk on the water to me.”
He left the boat, and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. When He saw how strong the Wind Program was, He got scared, began to sink, and cried out for Programming Assistance.
Jesus reached out to provide it, and brought Peter to safety (in The Program).
He said, “Ye of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Then, they got into the boat and the wind went away.
Those in the boat realized that such Programming Power could only have been downloaded on earth by The Loving Programmer, and said, “Truly, You are The Program, in perfect, obedient, human form.”
