Obviously, narcissistic personalities have a lot of drive. Their overwhelming vanity, especially when accompanied by family connections, elevates them into positions they should not occupy. John Edwards, John Kerry, John McCain, and Al Gore are perfect examples.
The speed with which they appear in front of cameras is a measure of their abnormal need for status. Being seen and heard enables them to “prove” two things: that they are worthy of their station and they are better than they are. Not surprisingly, such people often get themselves put in charge of things that they are unable to fully comprehend, though they are skilled at seeming to have the necessary abilities during the short periods of time that cameras are focused on them.
Status-driven personalities tend to resent, even hate, those who are intelligent enough to see or expose their intellectual shortcomings. Their hatred emerges with such overwhelming obviousness that one may conclude that hatred, itself, is not only a manifestation of lower intelligence, but also, is invariably accompanied by a huge, underlying lie on which the status-driven personalities base everything they think, say, and do with the fraudulent illusion that they are more than they actually are.
Bitter, Incompetent Pseudo-Intellectuals (BIPIs, rhymes with hippies.)
Mid-level BIPIs frequently mask their anger and shortcomings by accumulating advanced degrees provided by institutions run by earlier generations of BIPIs. They are cunning enough to adopt the beliefs that upper-level narcissists breathlessly tell them are “vital and important”. We all enjoy watching them lurch wildly from one stylish and utterly imaginary problem, like Global Freezing, to it’s exact opposite, Global Warming, in the twinkling of an eye. It is, sadly, about the only “intellectual” ability that they have.
The vanity that compels them to ignore their contradictions, even as they search for opportunities to broadcast them, is not merely amusing. It can be murderously hurtful. By embracing the “DDT is Dangerous” fraud, hundreds of millions of people have died from malaria. More millions were killed because they legislated ” A Woman’s Right to Choose” into the bloodiest of “rights”. We see that the BIPIs are, in fact, The Culture of Death.
They go on hurting families by raising taxes. It’s the only way they have to get money they’re too unable or too lazy to make on their own. We know that being a Christian keeps us from hating them for that.
The problems caused by BIPIs become more pressing when we understand more fully the implications of their greatest flaw: when they get into power, they simply will not hire anyone who’s not less able than they.
Understanding BIPIs helps us understand why democracies have so many problems.
