We’re fortunate if we have been led to believe in and obey The Loving Programmer’s Operating Instructions. Those who do neither can be classified by analyzing how far they have allowed their vanity to lead them from Him.

Even unbelievers recognize this. Psychologists, for instance, use the word “sociopath” to describe those who are so far from loving God and their neighbor that they hate Him and hurt or kill their neighbors.

There is a wide distance between Mother Theresa, who may be said to rank among those closest and most obedient to God, and a mass murderer. All of us fall somewhere in that gap. No matter where we fall between, say, number one and number three billion in that space, we can move closer to Him in both faith and obedience.

In a recent conversation, I was told: “If I could, by pushing a button, get rid of every single _______, I would push that button.” Most of us have heard, or made, similar comments, reflecting a desire to make the world a better place by killing those who threaten us.

We should realize that we, ourselves, may have had, and still have, similar tendencies. If so, we differ from mass murderers in deed, but not in thought.

Since we are going to be judged by He Who said in Matthew, 5;28 ” But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”, we should ask for the strength to avoid thinking about solving problems with our neighbors by getting rid of them.

Catholic Fundamentalism’s idea of describing God as He Who has the power to program and download energies and particles, compile them into systems and beings, and put us each within His Creation Program should be considered. That may help some to see how real He is, having downloaded the actual equivalent of a Pixar movie and put us each of us with a starring role within it.

As we become more aware of how powerful He is, we can’t help but loving our neighbors more, if only because we realize what punishments we bring upon ourselves by violating His Operating Instructions.
