Bureaucrats Build Babylons

Those who understand that people just want to be left alone realize that desire leads them to accept one level of control if they can be convinced that it will save them from a greater one.

Revolutions are caused by people seeking to avoid or eliminate excessive control. It is a law of history that there are always groups of angry, disaffected people in every nation. Mobilizing them scares the rest. Silent majorities can be convinced to support greater government controls on themselves in order to keep the disaffected in line.

Today, various “Occupy” movements, from stinky hippies in parks to Arab billionaires funding the immigration invasions of formerly Christian countries to stick us with their disaffected populaces, have allowed restrictive legislation to pass that, while ostensibly protecting us, puts us under greater control.

The worst sort of bureaucrats enjoy dealing with such problems. Their agencies, salaries, benefits, and pensions increase when they are “protecting” some cause or institution. They do not care that what they do destroys the futures of their nations. Many of them revel in doing all the harm they can do.
