Think Bubbles – Think in Terms of Bubbles

Think Bubbles

The Catholic Fundamentalism interpretation of human activities as “bubbles” helps us put our endeavors in what, at first glimpse, seems to be a depressing point of view. None of us enjoy picturing our work as an impermanent bubble within a larger bubble.

Reality is important. Viewing human activities and organizations as bubbles helps us see things from a more impartial perspective. Every group is, when seen as a bubble, seen more clearly.

It’s easy to call the activities of others “bubbles”, but harder for us to think of ourselves and our own efforts as being equally transient.

We do not have a whole picture of time. We tend to focus on ourselves, our families, and our activities. We also are quick to see threats to our own bubbles from those within other bubbles.

Types of Bubbles in Society

Property owners are unceasingly attacked by those in the Education Bubble who need higher property taxes. The sick and infirm are under pressure from those in the Medical Bubble who want more money for medical treatment.

Many bubbles don’t last longer than popular fads. The “animal-pulled wagon bubble” lasted for thousands of years. Like a family, that sort of bubble is a long, “hot-dog” shaped bubble. It is filled with the tiny bubbles that represent individuals within it.

Each of us is an individual bubble within a “family bubble” that stretches back to Adam and Eve. Some bubbles are bigger than others. Some are shinier. Many have burst, over the past thousands of years. Family Bubbles join with other family bubbles, and the appearance of the bubbles within tends to change over time.
