Wow! Americans owe more for student loans than for their credit cards. Double Wow!! Americans owe more for student loans than they owe for their automobiles.
Convincing children to pile up debt for useless degrees is abuse. That sort of child abuse is not said to be a crime when it financially abuses children in order to benefit the Education Bubble. Despite protestations of being “college men” and “college women”, most of America’s college students are nothing if not children, an assertion proven by their willingness to take on excessive debt in order to receive a useless degree.
Simple, credulous, and knowing only that they want clean-handed jobs that “help people”, an annual horde of saps shows up every September to waste years of their lives, each costing them tens of thousands of dollars. Many of them drink and drug themselves into a degree of oblivion profound enough to let them avoid seeing that they’re making an utter mess of their lives.
From a nation’s point of view, so much investment capital is wasted on the huge Education Bubble, there isn’t enough left to invest in factories, mines, and other institutions that actually do useful things. Those who support the Education bubble are impoverishing not only the students, but also destroying entire nations.
Those in other bubbles don’t appear to care, even as they, themselves, are made poorer by being forced to contribute to keep the Education Bubble inflated. It’s amazing that those who want to “help people” won’t help students get less expensive degrees by using modern internet education at a vastly lower cost.
Instead, students are graduating with overwhelming, often permanent debt burdens. Since educational debts are not discharged by bankruptcy, people who are drawing Social Security are now having their incomes reduced to pay for useless degrees received decades ago. The sadness of their lives is overwhelming.
As with all bubbles, the Education Bubble will burst. The sooner, the better. Thanks for reading excessive educational costs.
