Someday, an end-of-the-world prediction will be right.

A classic cartoon pictures a bearded man carrying a sign proclaiming that “The End is Near!”

People have been predicting the end of the world since Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden.  “The end is near.”, they said, and it was the end of their happy, perfect world.

Looked at in that light, worlds have ended many times.  The world of the Old Stone Age was ended by the Neo (new) lithic (stone age).  That was replaced by the Copper, Bronze, and Iron Ages.  Those worlds were replaced by our own Age of Electron Control.

But, the man with the sign is predicting the end of the whole world, the erasure of The Creation Program, the coming of nothing.  The man with the sign is announcing the disappearance of everything, with the exception (if he’s a devout Christian) of the Heavenly Jerusalem.

Someday, an end-of-the-world prediction will be right.  Someone will say, “The world is ending next week/month/year/decade/century.”, and it will end.

It was suggested half way through the year that John the Baptist’s Sunday, which is, symbolically, halfway through the year, was the midpoint of time.   If that time began with Abraham’s covenant with God, then we, who are living two thousand years after John the Baptist, are living near the end.

Things are happening that remind us that someday, an end-of-the-world prediction will be right.  A virtual flood of Moslems, pornography, death, and deviancy is washing over the world.  World-wide scams like Global/Freezing are impoverishing people.  It appears to be the devil’s last grab for souls.

The oddest thing about the attacks is that The Church is not fighting back.  In the past, The Church Militant fought evil with moral, intellectual, and military crusades.  Now, She does little, or nothing, while once-Catholic peoples sink farther into apostasy.

Science, as well, as may be giving us hints.  This graph of solar output shows that the sun seems to be winding down.

When we look at the far right side of the low point of solar output during solar cycle 23, and we see the sharpness with which the graph portrays the declines after the peaks, we see that solar cycle 24 is going to drop off as quickly as those preceding, more quickly than the less-alarming shallow curve that’s projected above, a curve that has not been equaled in shallowness in all the years portrayed.

Do the facts that John the Baptist is the midpoint between us and Abraham;  The Church’s sudden ignoring of great evil;  and the declining solar output mean that The Creation Program is headed toward erasure?

Facts don’t matter.  We should live as if The Creation Program is going to be erased at any time.  Sometimes, there are must more reasons to think about it ending.
