A mystifying Passage makes sense! #50.

Catholics understand that willful Protestants have been rejecting God since the beginning.

~

Question 1:  “Do only Catholics understand Today’s Reading from Jeremiah 13:1-11?”

Answer:  “‘The Lord said to me:  ‘Go, buy yourself a linen loincloth.  Wear it on your loins, but do not put it in water.’

~

Question 2:  “Is God telling one of us to buy and wear new underwear without ever washing it?”

Answer:  “That helps understand the next passage:  ‘A second time The Word of The Lord came to me:  ‘Take the underwear which you bought and are wearing, and go now to the Parath and hide it in a cleft of the rock.’

~

Question 3:  “What happened after Jeremiah ‘buried the underwear’?”

Answer:  “‘After a long interval, The Lord said to me:  ‘Go and get the underwear, but it was rotted, good for nothing!'”

~

Question 4:  “What’s the point?”

Answer:  “The unwashed underwear was ruined by bacteria that had rotted it because it was never washed.”

~

Question 5:  “Did God tell Jeremiah that people who never cleansed themselves would ‘rot away and become useless’?”

Answer:  “‘Thus says The Lord:  So also I will allow the pride of Judah to rot,
the great pride of Jerusalem.  This wicked people who refuse to obey My words, who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts, and follow strange gods to serve and adore them, shall be like this underwear which is good for nothing.’

~

Question 6:  “Do Willful Protestants of every age ‘rot away’ because they have ‘forgotten’ The Church-Creating Word of Jesus to The First Catholic Pope:  ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.’?”

Answer:  “That is answered in Today’s Psalm from Deuteronomy 32:18-21:

‘You have forgotten God Who gave you birth.  You were unmindful of the Rock that begot you, You forgot the God who gave you birth.  When The Lord saw this, he was filled with loathing and anger toward His sons and daughters.’

~

Question 7:  “How can we keep God from ‘loathing and anger’ toward us?”

Answer:  “May all the Victims of Protestantism obey The Church-Creating Word of The Son of God to The First Catholic Pope, be the best Catholics we can, and get ‘the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’ for our immortal soul.”
