A new take on “All are redeemed by Christ’s Blood.”

Those who are mired in Conventional Reality are ecstatic.  “Pope Francis has said that atheists are ‘redeemed!'”, they gleefully tell each other.  “Finally, The Church has seen the light, and all of us who are ‘good people’ can get to Heaven.”

Jesus was very clear on two major issues.  “Thou art Peter, and on this rock, I build My Church.” is His direct, simple sentence.  In it, He lets the ages know that He is establishing one church, not many.  He put one man, the first Pope, in charge.  He did not ordain a committee.

He also said, clearly and simply, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”

Those who get to Heaven obey what He is telling us:  “You can’t get to Heaven, or, at best, you will have a harder time doing so, if you do not take Communion in The Roman Catholic Church.”

Now, Catholic Fundamentalism does think there may be a narrow door, but would not encourage anyone to risk their soul on it:

Catholic Fundamentalism takes things as seriously and literally as possible. Let’s say you were a non-Catholic in a Catholic Church for a Baptism, Wedding, or some other Sacrament.

In each Mass, by the miracle of Transubstantiation, the Catholic priest transforms the Sacramental wine into The Blood of Christ.  During the Mass, millions, if not billions, of molecules evaporate, and permeate The Church.  The breathing non-believer absorbs some of these molecules into nasal passages with every breath.  Some is swallowed.

Every person in the church has unwittingly absorbed Jesus within.

We may extend that throughout the entire world.  We live in an atmosphere that blesses every human program with countless trillions molecules of Christ’s redeeming Blood that have evaporated into the air we breath.  We absorb them with nearly every breath and swallow.

A new take on “All are redeemed by Christ’s Blood.”  We cannot rely on the presence of His Blood in the air we breathe to save our souls, but they have made humanity slightly better, over the centuries.

If we understand the basics of the process, and still can’t get our vain, lazy selves to The Roman Catholic Church, reforming our lives to do whatever is necessary to take Communion and the Sacraments, we are, in the truest sense of the words, “damned fools”.
