Today’s Reading shows Catholics how to be “Truly Successful”:

Those who are "Truly Successful" are so enthusiastically grateful to God for our gifts and abilities that we make the best of them.

Question 1:  “What is the First Key to Success found in 2 Corinthians 9:6-11?

Answer:  “God tells us to be enthusiastic about what we do!  “Brothers and sisters, consider this:  whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”  Whether we are working in our own business or for someone else, we will “reap as bountifully as we sow” with our words and work brightened by enthusiasm.

God’s grateful people are enthused by knowing:  “Each must do as already determined” by the gifts God has given to “each” of His beloved people on earth!

Question 2:  “After we have made ‘enthusiasm’ our guide in marriage, family, work, and life, what does a ‘successful’ person do?

Answer:  “We align our thoughts with the next Passage:  ‘Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’  We ‘give’  obedience to God as ‘cheerfully’ as we can!  No whining!  No complaining!  No ‘sadness’!”

Question 3:  “Will God help a person do that?”

Answer:  “God’s Word shows He is here to help us!  ‘Moreover, God can make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.  As it is written (Psalm 112:9):  ‘He scatters abroad, He gives to the poor;  His righteousness endures forever.'”

Question 4:  “St. Paul was rewarded in Heaven for bringing billions of souls into The Church Spoken Into Being with the Church-Creating Word of He Who fulfilled The Prophecies, ‘And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven’.  Are all of God’s ‘cheerful workers’ similarly rewarded?”

Answer:  Look at Today’s Reading from Psalm 112:1-4!  ‘Blessed the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commands.  His posterity shall be mighty upon the earth; the upright generation will be blessed.  Wealth and riches shall be in his house; his generosity shall endure forever.  Light shines through the darkness for the upright; he is gracious and merciful and just.  Lavishly he gives to the poor; his generosity shall endure forever; his horn shall be exalted in glory.'”

Question 5:  “What must successful people do next?”

Answer:  “Mt. 6:1-6 tells us we must be as ‘anonymous’ as we can!  ‘Jesus said to His disciples:  ‘Take care not to perform righteous deeds so that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.  When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. . . they have already received their reward.'”

Question 6:  “Does Jesus tell us there are two kinds of people on earth:  those who have already ‘received their reward’ they sought on earth and those who ‘receive their reward’ in Heaven’?”

Answer:  “Things are even worse for them!  Jesus tells us three times in Today’s Reading:  “Fame-seeking people are Victims of Protestantism who have already ‘received their reward’.   They can look forward to ‘no reward’ in Heaven!”

Today’s Simple Rhyme:  “A self-centered clod / serves himself and not God.”
