They are biological gears, programmed to allow the insect to jump long distances. We human programs have been using the same mechanisms in mechanical devices since before Roman times. And, here they are. In a tiny, insignificant bug, provided by The Loving Programmer and His sub-programmers.
Catholic Fundamentalism believes that the Nine Choirs of Angels, as they were described in the Middle Ages, are actually different levels of sub-Programmers. One of the them, involved in locomotion, came up with this brilliant idea. Wow! Amazing what His angelic sub-programmers can do!
Absolutely brilliant. If we get to Heaven, he’ll be there to tell us just how He did it, and describe his gratitude to The Loving Programmer for having given him the ability and joy to program such a wonderful sub-sub-program and fit it into one of the lesser-known insect sub-programs.
