Catholic Fundamentalism began about twenty five years ago. The goal was “That all the world be Catholic.” Over time, that has been modified to a more modest: All Pro-Life people should be Catholic.
When we began, there were still more similarities than differences between Catholics and Protestants.
Protestant ministers were mostly men, as were all Catholic priests. Protestants, at least through the 1960s and 70s, were family-oriented. Fathers went to work. Mothers stayed home and raised children. In most churches, abortion was condemned. Birth control, in varying degrees, was not approved. God was in His Heaven. All was right with the world.
Birth control began ravaging the Protestant schisms in the 60s. Their Sunday schools were increasingly empty. Abortion began in 1973, and millions of babies were destroyed every year. Many do not understand why. All Pro-Life people should be Catholic.
While Protestants were disappearing, their schisms multiplied. Some marketing plans focused on lapsed, divorced, and remarried Catholics. Others focused on mindless, musical services for “young people”. Others welcomed “people who were living together but not in sin”.
Churches were begun to provide a “Ministry to the Gay Community”. Soon, every identifiable sexual activity had its own Ladder to Heaven. The worldly recognized a marketing opportunity in “Prosperity through Prayer”. They focused on “God’s desire for YOU to be more prosperous”. Pandering had no limits. Any identifiable group became a target for the new denominations’ marketing plans. Some deluded divines concluded: “God wants me to have a personal jet to better tend my far-flung flock.”
How many groups are there? The latest estimate is that 43,000 separate, Protestant denominations now claim to provide their own “Ladder to Heaven”.
They come and go.
Only one denomination among the 43,000 that call themselves “Christian” take seriously two things Jesus said. He founded only One Church, saying to the Only Church Leader He appointed, “Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church.” That Church would have its first service at The Last Supper. That is when it began to make available to the truly faithful what Jesus said we had to have to be saved: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”
One would think that anyone blessed with being pro-life would understand how important it is to be a part of the oldest, largest Pro-Life organization in the world. Until that happens, the destruction of the unborn will continue.
All Catholics are Pro-Life. All who are Pro-Life should be Catholic. Then, the sacrifice of unborn children will be stopped.
Each of us who is Catholic is part of the solution. Each who refuses the Only Church He Founded is part of the problem.
