A Glimmer of Light.

A couple of days ago, an extreme liberal with a talk show actually dared to say something critical about the near-universal desire of those in the Moslem religion to kill, forcibly convert, or enslave the rest of us.

It was an amazing statement, a factually true statement. As such, it was a crack in the liberal foundation. As soon as any liberal admits that there are actual problems and real enemies, they can no longer deny the need for effective deterrents, in this case, armed forces. Suddenly, the once-despised people in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines take on an importance that justifies funding.

Other liberals will not recognize the problem. Groups of them, as those in state-funded universities, start to bleat as they see their funding threatened with more money going to national defense. The desire to see funding flow to them encourages them to oppose those who are farsighted enough to be aware of real enemies.

Many are so desperate for material goods that they would rather be killed while still rich than have suffer even a temporary impoverishment to stay alive.
