May all be blessed to make The Right Choices in life.

False gods provide sustenance for entire denominations of believers. On earth.

Today’s Reading is scary!  Will our immortal soul be forever among those described in Psalm 33:  “Blessed are the people The Lord has chosen to be His own.”?

Luke 12:32-48 tells us what Jesus told us to do with our lives:  “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you The Kingdom.  Sell your belongings and give alms.  Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven that no thief can reach nor moth destroy.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.”

Catholic priests and religious obey that order to “sell your belongings and give alms” by taking Holy Vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience.  The First Catholic Pope had a question! “Then, Peter said, ‘Lord is this parable meant for us or for everyone?'”

Jesus explained:  “The servant who knew his master’s will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;  but the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will shall be beaten only lightly.”

There are two kinds of people on earth.  Some know the “Master’s will” took form in The Church-Creating Word of Jesus to His First Catholic Pope: “And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”  Catholics are taught and led by those who “make preparations” by taking Holy Vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience.

Others choose to follow those who praise them, giving comfort to their donors by promising, “I know more than Jesus about getting into Heaven.”

Those who choose to “Be Catholic” understand and live by this instruction from Jesus:  “You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, The Son of Man will come.”
