Catholics heed The Prophets whose Words save both people AND peoples. #20.

May all be blessed to see and share Prophecies that remove worship of self-serving idols from the "midst" of our minds.

Isaiah 58:9-14 is a Prophecy predicting how individuals and nations may be saved.  “Thus says The LORD:  ‘If you remove from your midst oppression, false accusation, and malicious speech;  if you bestow your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted;  then light shall rise for you in the darkness, and the gloom shall become for you like midday.’  Then The LORD will guide you always and give you plenty, even on the parched land.”

Isaiah’s Prophesy applies to people of every race and nation in History who are blessed to realize that we must remove evil thoughts and desires from the “midst” of our mind!

We cannot respect The Prophets, obey God, and save our immortal souls if we let demons of pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth live in the “midst” of our mind!  (A “new idea”!  English-speaking Catholics put those seven tribes of demons into a “new word”, the acronym “peggalas”.)

When we see thoughts, words, and deeds that are driven by pride, envy, greed, gluttony, anger, lust, and sloth (“peggalas”!), we ask God to drive them from the “midst” of our” mind.

Then, This Prophesy comes true!  “Then light shall rise for you in the darkness,”  That predicts Jesus (and us Catholics!), rising from the dead, “and the gloom shall become for you like midday;  Then The Lord will guide you always and give you plenty… He will renew your strength, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails.”

Isaiah makes His Prophesy of Salvation even clearer during Lent!  “If you do not follow your own pursuits on My Holy Day… if you honor it by not following your ways, seeking your own interests, or speaking with malice – then you shall delight in The LORD…”

Catholics are the only people on earth who are blessed to “delight” in The Church-Creating Word of Jesus that brought the House of God and David, to His First Catholic Pope!

“And I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Being Catholic blesses us to follow The Prophesy of Catholicism that God shared in Today’s Psalm 86:1-6, “Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth.”

Today’s Catholic Reading includes God’s Promise of Salvation from another Prophet, Ezekiel 33:11.  “‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked man,’ says The Lord, ‘but rather in his conversion that he may live.'”

That is a Prophesy fulfilling The Call to Catholic Communion that Jesus repeated 14 times: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood, you do not have life in you.”

That leads us to Today’s Gospel from Luke 5:27:32.  That passage ends with Christ’s call to Be Catholic:  “I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.”
