This is my favorite date, one of two in the calendar which is a command. The first date that is a command is March First. We must wonder if it is a sensible command. It is sometimes better to “plan first”, before beginning to march. But, if we consider the plan as part of the march, it is necessary to march, first. Since Mars was named after the God of War, it is appropriate that it begins by telling us to “March, First!”
If we are to get anywhere, we do have to March Forth. We will never get anywhere if we fail to do as this date commands.
