Belief always defies rational analysis.

When The Programmer programmed, He did so with one thing in mind: He wanted to set up a system in which sheep could separate themselves from goats. To do so, He needed to write programs that extended across thousands of light years, made out of sub-programs that were programmed to produce particles billionths of inches in size.

His 3-D programs were written so as to abound with reasons not to believe in Him. Animal programs, for instance, have many common features. This indicates an economy of programming, in which the tiny teeth of shrews have many of the same programs found in the larger fangs of saber-toothed tigers. One reason He used so much multi-purpose programming was to provide those hostile to belief in Him, the goats, with reasons not to believe. “Evolution!” they cry at every fresh discovery of every such programming economy with which The Programmer programmed.

We sheep, on the other hand, see the very same things, and cry out to God in astonishment at each tiny inkling of His brilliance we have been fortunate enough to see.
