We’re a little like cell phones.

When a cell phone is opened, it lights up. When someone asks us what we think about something, we light up. We are happy to open up our minds to let others know what we think about things.

Cell phones grow dim if their batteries aren’t charged.

If a cell phone’s voice mail is full, no one can get through, even to leave an important message. The resemblance is obvious.

A cell phone left on too long won’t work.

Getting out of range of a cell tower keeps the phone from doing its job. Getting too far away from God keeps us from doing our job.

If we choose, a cell phone can be used to spread, or receive, harmful messages.

A cell phone’s tower knows who’s calling, or being called, on its number. Similarly, God knows who we’re talking to, or about.

And, just as a cell phone may be tapped so that higher authorities can listen in, higher authorities hear everything we say. And, think.
