Who is St. George? We are. What is he killing? What we should kill within ourselves.

We’ve all seen paintings of St. George destroying an evil being.  To Catholic Fundamentalists, there is another, inner meaning.  The evil spirit, may be seen as one of the many embodied sins that work within our own minds to lead us into sin.  Our own soul rides on the faith and wisdom of The Church, which is symbolized by the horse.  Each of us either kills the sin that attacks us, or it destroys us.

The embodied sin will not always begin by attacking us directly, but often starts by trying to cripple the horse so that we can no longer ride effectively against him.
