It’s an ancient truth that “Fish, and company, start to smell after three days”. But, God loves us so much that He’s willing to share His Heavenly Kingdom with us forever.
More miraculous, He loves us so much that He wants us as permanent residents.
That’s one of those things that makes Christianity so unbelievable. There is no one whom we’d want visiting with us forever. It’s almost impossible to believe that God could love us that much.
But, He does.
The Devil loves a spiritual vacuum.
We are familiar with vacuums, at least partial vacuums, in the physical world. Suction cups work because of a partial vacuum. Plungers clear drains by using a vacuum to move a column of water.
Spiritual vacuums are more important. When Jesus drove out a demon, He said that it might return, and bring friends, to reoccupy the space emptied by its leaving. To keep the evil spirits from returning, the soul has to be filled with good, more powerful spirits.
The Holy Spirit came to earth when Jesus ascended. The Holy Spirit occupies empty spaces within us so that demons can’t get in. When a nation chases the Holy Spirit’s Church away, the country begins to collapse as more people are controlled by spiritual forces from the Other Side.
When we look at the decay and collapse of England, we see a country whose king replaced its God with himself and his heirs. It has been going downhill since. The descent was always masked with pomp and circumstance, and the looting of many even less Christian peoples, but the slide is accelerating wonderfully.
England’s bureaucrats, like Europe’s, are filled with evil spirits; pride, envy, and hatred of neighbor. They have exiled the Holy Spirit and the empty places within have been filled with demons crying out to spread pain and suffering wherever they may.
England’s only hope is that enough European Catholics immigrate to successfully pray that The Holy Spirit will return to fill their souls so full that the evil spirits will not be able to get in.
Even as their nation collapses into a quagmire of confiscatory taxes and predatory rules and taxes, many are too proud to ask The Holy Spirit to return.
So, of course, He won’t.
He’s far too polite to go where He isn’t invited.
