The Church is always under attack.

The Church is always under attack. The Church is attacked in different ways. Henry VIII’s government would execute priests, bishops and believers who would not elevate his syphilitic egomania to Papal levels. During the French Revolution, priests and nuns were hunted down and executed. Later, socialists of the national and international variety did the same thing.

Now, The Church is attacked by magnifying the sins of a tiny handful. In Ireland, endless accusations, made by those who receive money from the state, are leveled against many Irish orphanages and schools run by The Church.

The state wants to take over those operations to provide salaries for other government employees. The attacks on The Church’s institutions have been relentless, and often, state-subsidized. Neurotics, whiners, and wannabes are paraded before an obedient media to complain about their “lost innocence”.

Most of this is to help the state nationalize child care. It is almost impossible for many to calculate how much wealthier each and every one of us would be if taxes were lower and if services were privatized.

The Church, motivated by love and operating with efficiency, is the very opposite of government. The hatred of the latter for the former is very understandable.

What is more difficult to understand is the love of the former for those who participate in the attacks of the latter.
