Good politicians love their neighbors. Bad politicians merely tax and regulate mercilessly.

Love and hate manifest themselves in every area of every life. We are each given dozens, maybe hundreds, of opportunities every day to do something that indicates whether or not we love a neighbor. Some do what they can to help their neighbors, others do the opposite.

Hate is like a snowball, gathering power as the hater moves toward Judgment. Tyrannical governments are most filled with hate, and become more vicious toward their subjects as time progresses. Hatred of taxpaying citizens increases as bureaucratic salaries swell far above the levels of the “lesser” citizens.

In order to justify despising their neighbors, bureaucrats make them helpless. Their activities are unbelievably micro-managed. People get used to being told what to do. Obedient personalities can easily be led into hating their fellow subjects. “They think they’re better.”, is a proven way to isolate and destroy groups of citizens who demand meaningful reform.

Only the love of God and truth can save a nation from greedy lunatics.
