Families were important to governments when they needed lots of soldiers. Families in those days were “soldier machines”, turning out the endless ranks of men to mow and to be mowed down.
Families were devalued when governments stopped depending on their ability to draft men into the military and make war to maintain power.
Nuclear weapons, long-range missiles, and sniping devices made heads of state vulnerable to retribution for foreign excursions. Policies which had been designed to protect families so they could produce soldiers changed.
Since they couldn’t loot foreigners, elitists took to looting their own countries, whose leaders were chosen for their ability to raise taxes.
Destroying families makes it easier to get more people working and paying taxes. The 10% tax that had been customary in times of warring nationalism and values families now reaches 50-60% in most “civilized” countries.
Most countries pretend to have a two-party system. In fact, both parties are addicted to tax revenue. This addiction results in the erosion and destruction of families because families are no longer valuable.
There is no relief found in supporting one party or another. Both parties become enemies of the people.
In the long term, high taxes drive people to support the enemies of their own government. In Spain, aggrieved noblemen asked the Moslems to invade and get rid of their tax-mad kings.
