“Believe all, not some, of Christ’s Words.”

Today’s Reading from the Old Testament connects us, in our time, with what happened 2,600 years ago. It is the same God, the same people, the same destruction brought about by pride and the other deadly sins. The prophet, beginning with Ez. 12:1, clearly shows us the similarity: “The word of the LORD came to me: Son of man, you live in the midst of a rebellious house; they have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.”

Today, everyone in The Church Jesus Founded realizes that most souls in our own time, like the prophet’s, are rebelling against God. They are choosing to destroy themselves. As they go down the broad paths to destruction, we may say to ourselves the words of Ezekiel, 2,600 years ago: “I live in the midst of a rebellious house. They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.”

The “rebelling” is against God and His life-giving commandments that are in the way of base desires. Rebels blind themselves to consequences of sin. They refuse to hear warnings of destruction. Rebels bring destruction on themselves.

The greater the rebellion, the greater the subsequent destruction. Today, a common rebellion is to ignore these Words of Christ: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” Amazingly, many say “I believe Christ, the Son of God, is my Lord and Savior.” Then, they proceed to ignore that, and other passages, that lead to The Only Church Christ Founded by saying “Thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church. . .”

Choosing to ignore some of Christ’s teachings is a form of rebellion. Like Ezekiel, we must say to such rebels: “Believe all, not some, of Christ’s Words.”

We may repeat the warnings of the prophets. A remnant will always be saved. Only a remnant. Like lemmings, the others go over the cliffs.
