“Time is money.” is an old saying. It’s meaning is similar to “A stitch in time saves nine.” and “The early bird gets the worm.” We all are given a certain amount of time, usually between 70 and 80 years. We also know that we may only have a few days, weeks, or months of time left. We don’t know.

So, we try to bet wisely on the best way to use time we have left. From this point of view, “Time is money.” is not as correct as a greater truth which becomes clear. “Money is time.”

In early times, God gave messages to prophets. Three hundred separate mentions of the coming Messiah described Him and His activities in great detail. Those prophecies were made thousands of years before He arrived in the predicted place.

The Prophets’ predictions of His power were shown, again. The Only Church He Founded divided time in two. There were the times B.C., before Christ, and the times after, the years A.D.

The most important thing we can purchase with our remaining time is enough mercy to have our immortal soul spend eternity in Heaven. The smartest people spend the most time trying to attain that reward. Obviously, the smartest, most aware of that are the priests, brothers, and sisters who give their lives to He Who Made Time.

We, less intelligent people, strive toward the same end. We know we are not “full time”. The smartest of us “part-timers” are grateful to, and for, those who give greater parts of their lives to God and The Only Church He Founded. By doing so, they provide His Saving Sacraments to us “part-timers”.

By their faith, we are saved.
