Catholic Fundamentalism prompts many to share their opinions on religion.
It is clear: Catholics revere The Mother of God. Catholics often ask The Blessed Mother to intercede for them. Most Catholics feel that they are “brothers” and “sisters” of Christ. So, they are comfortable thinking of Mary as their Mother, as well. Catholics also believe that Mary is also the Mother of The Only Church Jesus Founded.
Most Protestants are not comfortable with Mary. They isolate Mary from Her Son, as if He came to earth without her saying “Yes. I will be the handmaid of The Lord.” to Gabriel, the Messenger of God.
In a word, many Protestants make themselves “orphans”. They think that Jesus, in Whom the 43,000 schisms believe, sort of arrived on His own. There may be an occasional, grudging admission: “Well, Mary may have helped, but He could have done it without Her. You Catholics make too big a thing about Mary. None of that is in The Bible.”
Well, what is in The Bible is Gabriel saying “Hail Mary, Full of Grace the Lord is with Thee.”
And, we have Elizabeth, mother of St. John, saying, “Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”
And, we have Jesus, God Himself, obeying His Blessed Mother’s request to save a wedding party that had embarrassingly run out of money by turning water into a very fine wine.
And, from the Cross, we hear Him saying to the most beloved Disciple, “Behold, thy Mother.”
The poor Protestants must are swollen with jealously. When they compare their grim exaltation of their founders’ various manifestations of ego-mania in the cloud of 43,000 ego-manias and bizarre beliefs, their hearts must cry out for the mother whom they ignore.
And, that is the true sadness of men who renounce their mothers. They have no one to blame but themselves. When they renounce The Mother of God, they have given up their Mother’s love. Today is hard for many. Mother’s Day is Mary’s Day.
Catholics recognize The Holy Mother. Sad, lost, and often jealous souls do not see that Mother’s Day is Mary’s Day. Some are filled with envy, but cannot admit “I wish I had a mother who loved me as much as Mary loves Jesus, The Church He Founded, and all who turn to her for help!”
