Today, a Reading from Psalm 145: 17-18 gives us clear instructions. From 1,000 BC, “Be Catholic”.

The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. (Since this is true, and one of His Works is The Only Church Jesus Founded, the closer we are to His Church, the closer we are to His Justice and Holiness.)
The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. (When we call to Christ as Communicants in The Only Church He Founded, we call upon Him while we are actually living in His truth and His truth is literally living in us. Those who call upon Him from conditions made shaky by contradictions have a harder time. He founded One Church, saying “I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” That’s how we know that when we call upon Him from The Only Church He Founded, we are literally calling on Him while we are living “in truth” as fully as possible while on earth, obeying not only Jesus, but also, His earthly ancestor, King David, author of this Psalm which instructs us to obey not only him, but also His Son Who is to come.)

R. Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom. (It is by our obedience to The Church that we, His friends, make known the splendor of His Kingdom. The response relates perfectly to The Catholic Church, where all glorify Him by obeying His Command, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.” We who obey that and His other instructions are described: “If you obey My commands, you are My friends.” The circularity puts us in a perfect circle of friendship with a diameter of 3,000 years!

A Psalm written three thousand years before our own appearances on the stage tells us that those who strive to be obedient Catholics are Jesus’ friends. We must not take His friendship for granted. His friendship lasts as long as we strive to be obedient to His commands.
