The first prediction of Protestants in The New Testaments is in Luke 2: 33-35.

“The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him;  and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted—and you yourself a sword will pierce—so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.’”

Jesus is clearly “destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel.”, and we know that Israel includes the Gentiles who would come to believe.  “the fall and rise” includes both the fate of earthly failures and successes and the “fall” of souls into hell and the “rise” of souls into Heaven.

The “sign that will be contradicted” refers to those who believe they may be Christian without actually following Christ.   Those living in that contradiction, that ultimate hypocrisy, identify themselves by proudly saying “Sola Fide”.  “I am saved by faith, alone.” is the pompous, popular Protestant proclamation  “I am a Christian and I am saved by what I have chosen to believe.”

“Sola Fide” boils down to “Salvation by me!”  It is in complete contradiction to what Jesus would teach:  “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

A soul not nourished by His Body and Blood is dead.  There are no dead souls in Heaven.  Those who ignore Jesus’ command are, in His Own Word:  “dead” by their own vanity.

They have chosen to ignore “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”    They have chosen to ignore that His Church’s priests are ordained as living links with The Apostles and that they are empowered to actually turn bread and wine into His Body and Blood at every Mass since The Last Supper.   They ignore all that will save them.

There are two major Protestant  roads that lead to the same cliff.  One broad pathway of Protestant ego-mania leads into one of the 43,000 man-invented schisms.   Another, more winding way, leads to an even more ego-centric version of Sola Fide, prompting the proud  “I do not need any group of fellow believers.  I will find my own way to Heaven.

Thus, in every age, do the two types of those whose minds are paralyzed by “a sign that will be contradicted” talk among themselves.

Best to be in The Only Church Jesus Founded.
