Many Christians choose Catholicism.   Others prefer one of the 43,000 denominations identified as “Christian”.  More individualistic Protestants don’t mind telling whomever will listen,  “I am a Christian and that’s all I need.”  There are either Catholics or Protestants.  Catholics obey more than Protestants.

God wrote and downloaded The Creation Program to provide us with understanding.   He made dogs and cats.  Sheep and goats.  Wheat and weeds.   Cain and Abel.  Catholics and Protestants learn from what God has put around us, including each other.

We find facts:

There are no seeing-eye cats.  There are a dozen breeds of “Sheepdogs” but there are no breeds named “Goatdogs”.   We rarely eat weeds.  Cain killed Abel.  Protestants obey fewer rules than Catholics.

Obedience separates sheep from goats, dogs from cats, Cain from Abel.  By the size of The Catechism, we see that Catholics obey more than Protestants.

Jesus valued obedience.  He told us all:  “If you obey My Commands you are My friends.”

Catholics realize that Jesus wasn’t kidding when He said, six times, in the short passages between John 6:53 and John 6:66 “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

Catholics, and most Protestants, believe Jesus turned bread and wine into His Body and Blood at The Last supper.  Catholics believe He wanted all future generations to be able to “have life in” them, so He Ordained a Church and Priesthood so future people could choose to do what was necessary to “eat My Body and drink My Blood and have life in you” by worthily receiving Catholic Communion.

He Who Fulfilled the Prophecies made His intentions about which Church to be in by saying:  “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  If that was not enough, He added:  “I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Priests ordained in a living link with His ordination of The Apostles were, in John 20:23, told “Whose sins you forgive they are forgiven.”  The absolution they were empowered to provide made obedient believers fit to receive His Body and Blood and “have life in” them.  Catholics obey more than Protestants.

“That’s too much!”, Protestants insist.  “He couldn’t be that powerful!  We’ll just pass out some grape juice and little cubes of bread, as sort of a ‘souvenir’ of The Last Supper and pretty much do our own thing.”

Catholics obey more than Protestants.  That seemingly subtle difference is what separates sheep and goat, wheat and weed, Abel and Cain, Heaven and hell.
