We can’t count on Protestantism to count. Jesus was very clear about The Only Church He Founded. He said one time, to one man, “Verily, verily I say unto you thou art Peter and on this rock I build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I give you the keys to The Kingdom of Heaven.”

Those in Protestantism don’t believe those clear, direct words of Jesus. “Well, Jesus only said that once, so it really doesn’t count. Besides, we can find many meanings of ‘rock’ in other languages that Jesus didn’t use. We can confuse the issue, and teach that Jesus didn’t speak clearly enough for anyone to read those words and think they should be Catholic.”

What happens when those in Protestantism are told that Jesus said not once, but many times, to “Be Catholic!”?

“That never happened!”, they insist.

Catholics may point out: “Jesus told us to take Catholic Communion or die! He said, an incredible eighteen times, “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

“When did He say that?”

“Between John 6:33 and John 6:66, Jesus said, and reinforced, a dozen times: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

“So, He said it a dozen times. That’s not eighteen! Where else does He say it?”

The obedient Catholic points out, “In The Last Supper Accounts of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus gives the same instruction at least six more times: “If you do not eat My Body and drink My Blood you do not have life in you.”

We can’t count on Protestantism to count. “I don’t care if Jesus says “Be Catholic!” one time or eighteen! I would rather die than be Catholic!”
